I think army should have a big tiktok team (pro editors, content creaters,...) to create more BTS songs' trends. The old BTS's songs are so good, they need to be viral.
I think this is a good idea! We have big accounts that organise streaming and voting, and some even doing army projects like songs and short films, maybe there should be one that specifically focuses on tiktok. I am not volunteering bc I am not a creator and not even on tiktok lol, I just think it's a great ida

Well. As first, we need someone has good reputation (has experience working on social media) in the fandom to be a founder/ leader for the campaign. Then, we need to cast for the army volunteers divided into different teams such as content creaters, talents (who will record the videos and be on the videos, it would be better if they were already have "some" followers on tiktok), video editors, broadcasters.etc. Army on X, Instagram and Tiktok help advertise the campaign to all over the army to make them follow the campaign and spread out the BTS trends. When they became trends, people using tiktok would follow the trends and it helped increase the BTS listeners monthly.

it's difficult to stop some armys or fans to gatekeep. i saw this one thread saying that the more mainstream something is, the cringe it gets. or the more niche something is the cooler it seems. probably why a lot gatekeeps bts music, they want to be "the cool kids".

Maybe you can comment nicely to those tiktok Armys to let them know . For example something like "Hey this is a good edit and I really like it but maybe you can use BTS songs instead since it is about BTS members. I recommend this (insert BTS song name that suits the video) or any BTS songs that you think suit your videos, it can help promote their songs too"... I comment something like this once or twice and if they still don't take the advice I just let it go because forcing them will just makes them mad and more ego.

@@aisyahomar2516 Agree, I think the best thing Army can do is be polite to others showing interest in BTS - a lot of these TikTok folks probably have no idea about these things, and it doesn't help if they get snotty or gatekeepy comments telling them what they are doing wrong which will just turn them off. Boracity's tone is great, it's educational without being superior or irritating.
I've recently seen "Boy in Luv" and "Just One Day" go viral, in addition to Black Swan's timeless instrumental. I think one of the things that prevent tiktok armys from achieving results is a somewhat emotional factor, we are very attached to the philosophy of appreciating BTS's music as a work of art (which is true) so I get upset when I see people listening to the songs without knowing the meaning, I saw a video of a non-army with outro:tear as if it were a baddass song when in fact the lyrics are sad and have a heavy meaning. I think that at least during the hiatus, we have to leave sentimentality aside and think about the numbers, because that's what we have now. Also, the video mentions the edits, I saw a lot of non-BTS related edits with Namjoon's verse on "All Night", and when people asked what was song because they found Namjoon's voice attractive, armys responded rudely or spam the comments and guys... this only harms the boys instead of helping them

im a BTS editor on TT and i ALWAYS see ARMYs gatekeeping BTS songs whenever someone who isnt ARMY uses the song BUT THOSE SAME ARMYs would constantly rant abt how they want their fav underrated BTS song to gain recognition.. its so weird..😭😭
ARMY is a fandom filled with superfans to the brim. The past traumas of both ARMY and BTS being cyberbullied by other fandoms and mocked by the general public have created a tendency of gatekeeping BTS from them all. I have recently read a post that said that it's unfair that general public is allowed to attend BTS concerts, and I was like, wait... BTS is literally the biggest band in the world, why do you think it's strange for general public to want to go to their concerts? I also think it might be because BTS never mention general public and instead address everyone who goes to their concerts as "ARMY". They also genuinely view ARMY as their friends and share their sincere feelings with us, so of course superfans feel like locals in the audience don't deserve to be included in that. That kind of mentality spreads to all platforms, including TikTok. This is both our strength and our weakness, because the music industry ends up viewing us more as a kind of a cult than music listeners. So, thank you for this video! I have learned something new from it! I'll make sure to share it on all platforms.
Nicely said. Army's (and BTS') greatest weakness is the public perception that it's a scary cult that attacks anyone who steps wrong. Anything that can be done to help against that will only benefit the band.
Your videos are like a thesis they should use in universities or to baby Armies to study about BTS and how to just behave as a fandom.

21:10 Oh my god yes! I have noticed this so many times. I will never understand why people make BTS edits but use other artists' songs. BTS got so so so many great songs that are suitable to a lot of situations and vibes. It is such a wasteful opportunity to promote more of their songs. Thank you Boracity for talking about this. I hope more Tik Tok Armys will learn something and let's work together. I also have been commenting to other TikTok Armys like 'You have such good BTS edited videos but maybe you can use BTS songs as a background to promote them at the same time." But I don't want them to feel like I'm giving criticism so I only do it once in a while. But I think the whole strategy is BE NORMAL. That's why I love Boracity magazine videos because the comment sections are filled mostly with normal Army who can accept different opinions and the will to discuss and learn something new.

I don't really use Tiktok or make edits, but I can think of a few things for non-BTS edits that could work quite well, like Namjoon's "Today we fight" intro from Not Today could quite easily work for TV Show edits, especially with the incoming influx of fantasy fighting shows coming now like PJO and ATLA, Airplane Part 2's instrumental could easily work for runway moments (think of Jungkook at MAMA 2018), we could even get Mic Drop in for "did you see my bag" for shopping hauls. We can get creative with it, and as long as we don't gatekeep things and don't make it weird, we can really use the general public to our advantage

Literally, the WEIRDEST thing is a BTS Edit using a non-bts song. I click out of those right away, which is MANY. PLEASE USE BTS SONGS IN BTS EDITS.
That's not weird, and that's how a lot of people become fans of new things on tiktok. Army's are the only ones that think its weird and cleary we're struggling on tiktok.

Sometime ago a lot of Armys were pushing for virality on Tiktok. We contacted so called Army accounts n asked if they could use BTS songs in BTS edits. U know what they replied "BTS songs don't fit with my accounts aesthetic" or "I don't like this song so I won't use it".
So what exactly do u like about BTS to proudly call urself Armys. Their faces?? How do u call urself a fan with 0 attchment to their music that they live n breathe for. Even if there r songs that i may not vibe with I always respect n admire their work bcoz I know what has went into it. Like how do u become a fan of musicians when u don't like their music.

I think TikTok is very vast and wild, and you can't control what happens there, especially in the comment section. People comment whatever without thinking. It's the only social platform that we will never get on our side unless we organize it right. Your video is a good start.
however, we need to change our mindset. On Twitter, ARMYs used to discourage famous people from mentioning BTS, claiming they were using BTS for clout. That almost turned out to be a big mistake. Despite Twitter being our main platform, we didn't fail to promote them there. Posts from big ARMY accounts played a crucial role in preventing it.

What a great essay once again! Unfortunately, as an old ARMY, I won't be using TikTok anytime soon, but at least what you pointed out about comments are applicable elsewhere. The problem is that TikTok armys don't like you to tell them anything like this. And they especially don't like when you ask why they don't use BTS songs for their videos (99% of the time it's music from another artist). They kinda remind me of Instagram armys in that regard.
True like once I saw a BTS edit on Instagram with a random kpop song the song got nothing to do with the video so I ask her to make edits on BTS songs and she jumped on me Calling me toxic 😭
I have that experience too but I think you should compliment their videos first and subtlely give advice. For example "Hey I have been watching your videos and I love it! I like this edit so much, but I think it will be suitable to use (insert BTS song) but it is just advice, ignore me if it's weird lol" or directly tell them like "you make such a good BTS video and have lots of followers and I assume you are an ARMYs too? I heard that it will help BTS in charts if you use BTS songs more in TikTok videos so I think you are one of the best people to do that subtle promo but of course, it's purely friendly advice, I still watch your video tho". I only comment on this once in a while because of course forcing them will just make them ego and mad and if they just ignore it, I just let it go and think they don't care.

I feel the need to say something, based on all the comments about not being able to do edits or thinking that tik tok is a dance type app or only for teens. Army, tik tok is for everyone. ANY topic, anything you can think of, you’ll find on there. If you have any hobby at all, I encourage you to post it, and choose a BTS song to play during your video. It can literally be a vid about your cat, or you gardening, showing proper ways to fold laundry, organizing your book shelf, washing your car, baking a cake, painting your house, crocheting, sewing, bathing your pet, cleaning your makeup brushes……literally ANYTHING, no special edits necessary. I’ll regularly be scrolling on my fyp and some random song will be playing and I click the song or Shazam it and it ends up on my apple music. If you choose a BTS songs, others will hear it on your vid, they like it and choose to reuse on their future vid. So, making a “dance” viral to go along with the song is not the only way to spread the music, just simply attaching it to random vids does the trick too.

This whole message is so true because despite being global artist BTS still feels very underground compared to other big artist like Justin Bieber Rihanna or Beyonce. As soon as you get out of the kpop sphere, when it comes to the general public nodody can even name one of their songs appart from Dynamite or Butter, wich is bad cause those song dont even represent their discography well. We dont know how to promotes on tiktok and thats unfortunate, if the other fandom do something well its use their faves songs on many videos

i kinda think that its bc armys from the fisrt six years and from the last ones are really different, we had to study everything in other to do well on the important plataforms at the moment, but the newer ones kinda arrived when it was all done and not all of them participate on the army knowledge already gathered and dont study the newest plataforms, plus the older armys lifestyles have mostly changed, since its been so many years, and cant be as active. thats my shallow take on why we havent conquered tiktok yet, but im sure we can
As influential as your channel is, we're not going to have enough of an effect unless we organize and collaborate. I've said this about the socio-political activism that BTS has encouraged, too. A coalition of your subscribers needs a Discord, or maybe a subreddit, to gather and talk about these things and cover all the bases.

In my country, tiktok is banned but from what can i see is, tikok armys are needed the amount of good editors they are plus i dont think it will be fun without those funny/hot edits they make. TikTok is a great platform for the idols that want to use it. Jungkook is the most active on there, he owns it, he has a lot of fun creating his own content and watching others. I know we are proud of our boys and therefore get overtly excited when some random person knows a bts song.. but spamming the comments just doesn't help..and also hate comments on random people's tiktok or Instagram reels is not helping us.. general public already thinks army is just crazy teenagers and we are giving them what they want...let's be more respectful unless there is unnecessary hate towards bts.. YES, PLEASE!!! I was talking about this TODAY. You're such a queen for this! Here is my contribuition: SHIP EDITS! I can't tell you how many songs I discovered from ship edits and still listen to this day and associate it with a couple I love. It not only help with streams and monthly listeners, but also with playlisting and this will allow fans of a book (booktok is HUGE), movie or tv show that looked for a playlist with that couple's vibes to find their song and make it their faves soundtrack. One of the reasons why Taylor Swift has become so popular in recent years is because she basically became a synonym to romance and don't matter the couple you will find an edit with her song and BTS has the perfect discography for this.
SOME IDEAS:

4 - For badass/hot edits: Run BTS, Mic Drop, DDAENG, N.O, Sexy Nukim, Daechwita, Dope, Fire, Not Today, Singularity, Set Me Free pt. 2, Burn It.
5 - Black Swan and Lie are perfect songs for those "the beauty of [blank]" videos that showcases the cinematography of tv shows and movies.
6 - Travel vlogs (helped a lot in making Seven go viral): Basically all of Mono, Indigo and Layover.
7 - And with holiday season we can post about our Christmas using the holiday remixes + Christmas Love, Snow Flower, Christmas Tree, etc. They literally have a song for everything, let's make use of them!
8 - Bad Decisions, Telepathy, the english trilogy and Hope World are perfect for funny or happy edits.
And if the app is not available in your country, you can use other platforms: There's plenty of people who post fanvideos here on CZcams, fancams of tv shows are popular on Twitter and Instagram. You can also make a Spotify playlist for your favorite couples or something like "pov: you're the main character in a fantasy book" or "pov: the villain falls in love with you", add other artists you like to not scare people away but always include 1 or 2 BTS/members songs in it. We have the fandom power and we have amazing songs, we just need to want it and it will happen!

Personally, I believe The Truth Untold, Euphoria, Just One Day and House of Cards have HUGE VIRAL POTENTIAL and they fit with so many couples, especially book ones. We can also pay attention when a movie/tv show gets popular and try to find songs that match it to hop on the trend.

haven't watched the video yet but here to tell ya'll the problem, Alot is happening on Twitter ! Armys are falling into solo narratives that's why a lot of ot7 army accounts are being deleted! Armys are falling into solos traps! Solos are trending disgusting things about other members and big army accounts are being cancelled! I just want armys to please trust each other till tannies come back! Please hold on to each other,... and don't listen to haters/antis/solos, solos are a big problem right now in our fandom!
they're trying to divide us, and we're just letting them by either falling into their narrative or complaining then doing nothing about it. for some reason armys have had a infatuation with accusing ot7 accs of being diet solos & chasing them off twt then doing nothing about the actual shameless solos, or harassing an innocent ot7 army and making them delete their innocent tweet because solos found it and said disgusting things in the replies/qrts, but not doing anything about the solos actually at fault. I don't even know how we're gonna get out of this situation because nobody is willing to do anything about it & just blindly follow solos when it fits their narrative, its just insane. the only thing we can do for now is report/block ACTUAL solo accs & trust armys.

Bless you boracity mag for saying all of this, the gatekeeping of BTS on tiktok is so dumb and counterproductive, and not at all how ARMY has been doing things for years. BTS didn't become as big as they are, didn't reach as many people as they have, who went on to become ARMY or casual listeners, from older ARMY gatekeeping them, quite the opposite. In order for Bangtan to soar to new heights, break new records, and become the biggest mainstream artist in the world, they, and especially their music, need to be known, and liked (or at the very least, acknowledged and respected), by the general public too, even if they only like/listen to one of their songs that they heard by chance one time.
Can you imagine if earlier ARMYs had gatekept BTS like they were their little secret artist, only for them to know and enjoy? How would so many ARMYs that never cared for kpop before BTS (or who still don't really listen to kpop and the only Korean artist they enjoy is BTS), find their way to Bangtan, do you think your music taste is so *exquisite* and *unique* that you would've organically stumbled across an unknown, unpromoted BTS, Micarah from Arizona? No, the fact that so many of us were able to find them is to an extent due to the ceaseless promotion ARMY did for them , that caused them to blow up in the East and then the West.
So, for the love of everything, let BTS reach more people (like they want to). A fanbase is a living, breathing organism, and there's people coming and going all the time. We shouldn't hinder either. Not to mention, BTS's music is amazing and healing and thought-proviking and more people should know what amazing artists they are. Oftentimes, tiktokmys only promote BTS there for their visuals, but locals thirsting over BTS's looks won't bring in streams, their music will.
It's about high time the fandom matures like the boys did. It's so admirable to see the 7 doing all they want without caring what people might think and in a way that destigmatizes a lot of things that k-pop fans would make a fuss about in the past.I feel like we need to let go of this gatekeeping thing because those are 7 mature adults well capable of replying back the haters with army's support rather than us always being on guard and getting defensive about the littlest of criticisms that is at least not hateful. I feel like the tiktok side of fandom(hell maybe some other parts too) has a lot of that gatekeeping attitude and you know getting overpossessive about their fav artist as if BTS should be just their secret like they aren't global stars already. Yes we got a lot of hate and roast for being a toxic 'fandom' but I feel like now we should become a little more laid back and realize our power so as to not engage in meaningless fights with nameless people or say getting toxic over a random person on tiktok using some BTS sound.

Me too. I specifically avoid TikTok due to their users' weird reputation but I made a TikTok account a month ago specifically to support BTS content,..the things we do for BTS lol and you go, I'll support you!

I'm a big sports fan and I often visualize sports highlights in my brain and what BTS song I'd use over it. The problem is that I don't know how to edit and I don't have a TT account. But one of my goals for 2024 is to change both those things. I mean MIC Drop, More, Daechwita etc etc are all just BEGGING to be used in sports highlights. I can do it!

You might want to add that some general public fans wont even say they are ARMY because they are embarrassed about how the hardcore fans behave. And that general public fans could even be harassed for being a hater for telling the hardcore ones to stop spamming BTS in the comments.

in dyna ear we had sick ass army promo videos dropping left and right by amazing army editors and we all collectively spammed them everywhere. and it worked! those promo videos were seen by none armys and made the comeback more aware.
what we need rn is gather those editors and big accounts together to focus on tiktok and make a FB of some sort, that way we can be more organized. of course we individually all have to do our part still and not depend on them but if we have a huge FB focusing on this it will be much easier to get the word around just like how our voting FBs are promoting the votings going on etc.
we need to gather and make sick as edits using BTS songs, instrumentals, etc. and in different topics too. be them about BTS, music, food, pets, nature and everything in between if we can set an example for other armys through this, i think we can do something big. and yeah we really need to figure out tiktok before BTS comeback in 2025.

And thank you for mentioning Lil Huddy, I've been watching his videos for years now and he always did BTS challenges (for example when bwl was released) and so many people commented mean things. I've seen that with so many big TikTokers, there are a few big german TikTokers (all over 1M followers) who also liked BTS but I also feel like they stopped posting videos about it bc the comments are either "omg, you are army???" or "wow, nowadays everyone acts as if they were fans only for the fame", even though they have followed the group for yeaaars. One girl I really like recently posted a TikTok with "Just One Day" as a throwback because she used to love the song so much, but she deleted it, probably bc so many (young?) armys were flooding her comments
I hope by 2025 we'll learn to use tiktok. We are at a disadvantage as it is banned in many countries, so we'll have to manage with what we have

BTS media. Its great that they are using BTS music and sounds to create their own footage, in order to generate that
"trend", that allows their music to be loved and possibly listened to by everyone, which includes the new listeners and
the non-kpop listeners. Its media that can can become new again, or recycled, depending upon what they are using the
media for. You even pointed out that BTS genereated different sounds, music, and media, for anyone, or everyone to
use or utilize, in order to entertain, or even expand their name sake recognition or reputation.

The edits and instrumentals parts is like my "BTS/ARMY roman empire" I'm on that app fr 😫 Like why is it that hard to understand it's a super easy grassroots promo opportunity on that platform?! Sometimes I'll randomly decide to check an account that has this type of vid pop-up on my FYP and 9 times out of 10 they're a multi (or at lest appear to be) that just does a copy and paste method a bunch of times and just comes off as "messy or trying too hard". We need ARMY ARMYS to start taking over these types of videos on TikTok 🙏💜
i'd argue that editors should use both bts songs and popular edit audios when making bts edits. because if they're editing bts but following an audio trend the general public could be more likely to get one of those edits on their fyp. and most of the time the edits are FIRE and the guys look great ofc, so naturally people would be more inclined to check them out anyway, especially if someone finds bts through a good edit to a song they already like. editors should be mixing the two though, as i said. editing bts to their own music is obivously needed lol

Thanks for your hardwork in spreading awareness💜 you're a GOAT!!! it's really frustrating when numbers of tiktok gatekeeps the songs or create bts edits using other songs. There's also times that introducing the members are being too much, like writing long essays that will not be read by the locals at all. we should only keep it simple unless the locals ask us to write about them more.
i became an army just because of a simple comment to back in 2016. It was simple "check out bts, they do /this genre/ too"

Actually BTS have so many songs in so many genres that have ability to go viral more than we ever could think! Their music isn't stuck with one genre they have done almost every kind of music not like other kpop acts collectively! So as Armys we have a very big chance and advantage more than any other fandom to make those songs attracted in tiktok! In my opinion most of Armys really don't care about tt as they only focus on streaming platforms! They casually think that tt trends are so temporary and not worthy! Some think tt is trash! Some think the songs going viral on tt aren't musically rich and even though it's a good song it will surely end up being destroyed by tt! But Armys we have to go with the trend no matter what! Streaming is the main focus of all! That's clear! But still we have to do our part as a fandom in tt also bcz by now tt have literally become one of the most popular platforms! So if tiktokers themselves intentionally or unintentionally help us in promoting bts songs in tt why do we stop them! Plz don't do it! Actually there's no harm to any song as it's going viral it's common but instead the worth of the song may become higher than it was! Make more trends and repost something if you see related to bts like and comment but not about bts or don't go spam them for using bts music or don't feel overwhelmed as you heard a bts song and fill the comment section with things related to bts! Just pretend like you don't know bts and repost it and like it comment something related to the content of the video!
