Seriously though, I think it's a feasible way to do things. If YT doesn't allow monetization of the content enough people are willing to see, but still allows uploading it, you can even mention this in your family-unfriendly videos. Put it up on Patreon a few days earlier as a reward and use YT to make people know that if they wanna keep hearing you say slooty - or however that's spelled in your dictionary - they can support you doing it.
Oh, and I personally think the two of you are VERY advertiser friendly. Maybe ask the right people for a sponsoring? And I'm not talking about sex toy manufacturers here. ;-)

Thanks Acro, although I think we all have our moments. And I really don't have any advice whatsoever for how to handle YTs changing environment, other than to sit through it with a whole load of stubbornness.
Gwynblaidd, the way I'd personally do it would be to spilt it up into two channels. Pretty much the way it seems to be right now. The Vlog/Play channel seems to be lucrative financially right now and also rather family friendly anyway. The Mod reviews are what I presonally like most, because I'm a horndog who likes some humor in the mix. I obviously don't have any data whatsoever, but I'd imagine it's the channel with more subs, views and engagement as well.
I'd keep that. I'd definitely keep that, even if it's not payingoff in ad revenue. It's the channel people come in to find out about the creator and then subscribe to the other channel as well. If you'd make those videos Patreon only, you'd miss out on a huge opportunity to enlargen the viewership. Patreon is essentially for people who do their own advertising elsewhere. It#s for people with some kind of fanbase who can expect part of that being willing t pay a bit.
So, I wouldn't change anything big about Henry's current setup. I'd just come up with some incentives for patrons. Since we already established that I'm a horndog and I also lack morals, that could very well be some uncensored mod content you simply can't upload here.
TZhe beauty of it is that it all doesn't increase the workload ramatically, because many things remain unchanged. Sure, some work on the into and stuff has to be done and some more videos have to be made. And of course there's always a risk if you put your faith in people paying for what they mostly can get for free. But I think those people's attitude is changed so much from when I was younger that it'll work out.
Oh, and I think Henry already had this idea before I made my comment. The Patreon seems rather new as of now, but the impression is that he wants to do something along this lines. I mostly wanted to reinforce this and it turned out advisory. Because I'm old. Like, could have gone to school with his parents - old... ;-)

@MxR I cannot recommend The Dresden Files series by Jim Butcher highly enough, it's one of my favorite series. Mostly light but heavy when the plot needs it to be, full to bursting with brain bogglingly powerful people (and non-people), epic demonstrations of badassery (with said power), hilarity, shenanigans, and pop culture references oh my... :) :P
The series chronicles the oft world altering antics of Harry Blackstone Copperfield Dresden ("that's my name, conjure by it at your own risk"), Professional Wizard ("lost items found, metaphysical investigations; no love potions, no bottomless purses, and NO birthday parties.") and off-and-on Freelance Consultant to the Chicago P.D.'s "Special Investigations" unit... In essence, the guys who handle the wierd shit. It never fails to entertain, and who can blame it; when a series has Polka Powered Necromancy (necromancy needs a beat to attune to, and it was the only music they had! XD ) facilitating a cross-town ride on a Zombie Tyrannosaur (museums are FUN!) you know dis gon be gud... :)
Take 1 part GTA and 2 part Skyrim and stuff 'im in a blender, then serve on a softcover paper platter and garnish with Overwatch's approach to character balance paired with a single slice of Pixar's Incredibles Quotes, ("when everyone's overpowered, nobody will be") and that's The Dresden Files in a nutshell. I've also heard it described as "Dirty Harry" Potter. Great fun, highly recommend.
