Small Boat Fishing for Smooth-hound and Tope

Steamed out from the Sovereign Harbour In EastBourne today in Search of Smooth-Hound and Tope. I managed Two Personal Bests and One of those was unexpected.I Joined ‪@ManicFishing‬ for a trip out in the lady Margaret
First Mackerel of the Year too, which heralds the start of The Summer for me.
I am a little out of my comfort zone with this sort of Fishing and thanks to Manic Fishing for all the help.My Previous Biggest Smooth-hound was 6lb and i wonder if that second one could of been Pushing 9 ? Let me know what you think in the comments. We didn't want to mess around weighing all those fish. As for the Unexpected Thornback at the end - That was another P.B as it was probably 8 or 9? Again its hard to see on a wide screen Video but do let me know what you think. No Fish were kept today.

Awesome again Matt, smooth hounds r called gummy shark in AUS thay r a prise catch for their eating quality, sold in most chippys as shark or flake, has been seriously over fished in many southern waters .Happy catching from AUSTRALIA Nick PS ( try one some time)

Great video Matt, have caught a 15lb smoothound but never caught a Tope, think Tope fight harder so I've been told.👍👍👍🎣🎣🎣

When fishing for Tope always crush the barbe. It dose less damage to the fish and the hook is easily removed.

Dog fish in abundance I don't like the fish it's rock salmon in fish n chip sho0svwe used to eat likevcod but not anymorevits to smudge texture
