This session discussed the Jewish origins of the Church, how the first Christian worshipped, and how their practices became our own. It also considers the importance of Constantine's conversion, and the impact that had on the whole life of the Church, all the way down to the present day.

Awesome
Of course women have a role in teaching, mothers naturally teach their children love, and of course God is love! So then mothers teach the faith, but it is one thing to teach and another matter entirely to advocate for a female to serve at the office appointed (by God) to men; as priests and bishops.
I can't see why anyone would think it controversial to agree that women can teach per say, I suspect the controversial matter is if we wanted to break with orthodox tradition and advocate for female ordination. Of course no orthodox priest or bishop would want that. So hoping all thing, perhaps the bishop that the lady elluded to was misunderstanding the two matters. Perhaps he believed she was advocating for female ordination
Their are female orthodox theologians too, I'm told that i might have something to learn from even them. Hehe. I did learn a part of the orthodox mindset from a female orthodox theologian in a book recommended by my priest.

Orthodoxy and America are like oil and water. They will never truly mix.
