I tried them both, we went with the 2022 GC L and have no regrets. It feels so premium and is so comfortable to drive city or highway. The infotainment system is absolutely top notch and looks better integrated into the dash instead of the tablet style slapped on top. Apple car play works flawlessly and is wireless in the GC. All 3 rows are comfortable and spacious, I’m over 6’1” and I can fit comfortably in the 3rd row which isn’t the case for a lot of 3 rows we test drove before making our purchase. V6 is powerful, transmission is smooth and it always seems to be in the right gear. It won’t blow your socks off with speed but off the the line it is quite peppy for the size and was quicker than I’d expected. I’d buy this vehicle again tomorrow in a heartbeat.

My wife and I went with the Jeep GCL Limited. Our Luxury Tech II package included ventilated seats, upgraded cameras, wireless charging, rear sunshades etc. a little over 55k out the door. We also tried the Wagoneer out for a few days it was nice but did not fit in the garage, & in Texas heat that’s a non-negotiable.
Coming from an Audi SQ5 and Porsche Macan this meets our desires/must haves out of a 3-row vehicle, particularly for a growing family. I just couldn’t see us driving a Kia for a few years after the hype dies down. This was also her push gift, I still have the Porsche Macan S. We’re confident we made the right decision and my wife who always wanted this truck loves it. FamCam is the new wave for toddlers/newborn ❤️‍🔥😮‍💨

Massage seats, night vision camera that alerts you to something like a deer, 21" wheels, 19 McIntosh speakers and just an insanely nice interior front to back. It's worth the money. As a former owner of three Hyundai products (same as Kia) I’d like to address the warranty difference. Quality issues and failures plagued both my Sonata and Santa Fe. When going to the dealership to address issues, the dealer did not actually have the authority to do repairs. They had to get authorization from a higher authority. This process sometimes took days. Sometimes our dealership had to argue on our behalf when the answer came back “no”. We had a phantom electrical problem which only showed up when it rained. This problem never got fixed. The drivers seat leather is paper thin and split within 3 years. Hyundai only fixed it after we threatened a lawsuit. We ended up selling the Sante Fe back to them and buying a Honda. We had several issues - way way more problems than our Honda CRV and we always seemed to be arguing with Hyundai. Be aware, the long warranty is not without its baggage. You will feel like you have to beg to get warranty repairs or argue against the “normal wear and tear” excuse. I also had a Genesis which IS a high quality car, but that too let me down. It was a great car until I bought it into the dealership for a recall and they reprogrammed the motor which took much of the power out of the motor. It was no longer the powerful luxury car i purchased. Hyundai said nothing about it and when I questioned them, they just said it was a reliability update. No more Korean made vehicles for me. I ended up leaving the Genesis right there. I’m tired of fighting that fight.

At my 3rd dealership (that I almost didn't go to), I found the EX in the color I wanted . I wanted an SX in white and no one had any and wouldn't trade another dealer nor order me a new one from the factory. They had one SX in Wolf Gray and nothing else. After I bought the car, the dealer said he only had 5 Kia's left on the lot. He was effectively going to be selling used cars (any brand) by November. I hope they all suffer for taking advantage and charging exorbitant prices . I have NEVER (until now) paid MSRP. The dealer probably made $15000 in profit including my trade in. The car absolutely is a great car, especially if you can get one under MSRP.

I’m 6’4 so comfort is really important to me. The Jeep fit me like a glove. I was even able to get $3500 off with an employee discount. I got the limited 4wd with the tech package so I got a lot of creature comforts including ventilated seats, rear view camera in the rear view mirror, etc. I can’t wait to get my gc L next week!

I went with the old one because I was able to get the 5.7 at a 50k price point. The new L is only offering the 5.7 on higher trim levels. I also heard that the new L is 50lbs lighter than the old GC. Sometimes in design, increase in weight results in increase performance/durability. So where did engineering make the weight vs strength trades, I would love to know.

Good details and comparison , but there are some things left out. For instance the Telluride is no way comparable to the Jeep in off road, or towing capacity. American Cars dont always match feature for feature at similar trim levels, but they are getting better. The Jeep aims for towing and true off road market, not just elevated all wheel. I looked at the telluride but it can only tow 5000 lbs, meaning I can't tow my own trailer. My Jeep (third one I've owned) can tow 7200 lbs, and hit off road areas the Telluride couldnt touch. Not trying to poopoo the Kia but for many jeep owners they buy them for more than electronics and features. I have a 2017 GC Overland w/every option possible, and got it for same pricing as the current telluride so got a good deal. Thx for the info.. :)

That amounts to about one third of one percent...almost nothing makes it to 200k. Toyota is about 7% and Jeep is 4%. @zxtenn Před 2 lety

RIGHT, there is a video where someone took their Telluride off road into the snow with the 20/21 inch all season tires and once the tires started continually spinning the KIA shut down probably due to drivetrain temp. as a lockout to prohibit damage which is a good idea in a way. There is no use tackling heavy snow and ice with 20 inch all season tires, most reviewers admit the 20's are for looks but 18 is MUCH better for trail/offroad. NOT a good idea to constantly spin with the wrong tires but i doubt the Telluride would come close to the GC. I had a 1996 Grand Cherokee 5.2 for 12 years and always used AT tires but manufacturers realize most wont be taken offroad so they equip with all season, 2021 GC comes with 265/18 tires, i have been looking at a few Laredo models for about 35K with rebates.

I pull a boat and need the higher tow rating, I will do some minor off road driving at times, and I still want a luxury vehicle to take my customers out in. The Kia really rolled/leaned a lot in turns, and I found the interior to be nice, but just not as nice as the GC. I've reserved the GC L Overland with the technology package, and it should be here in a couple of weeks.

Good video and comparisons. I wish there was a video of the higher trim levels being compared to something that is equal. All videos I've been able to find on the GCL are of the low price point trims and not the higher ends. Wife has been debating between a 2022 Mercedes-Benz AMG GLE 350, and the 2022 Grand Cherokee L Summit. We chose the summit as currently almost all Mopar products have the best interiors. I AM NOT A SPECIFIC BRAND LOYAL TYPE OF PERSON. However when I purchased my 2021 Ram Power Wagon I quickly realized that Ram has the best interiors out of all new trucks and I knew that the jeep is Mopar. I cannot stand jeep wranglers or any of that sort. There is a HUGE difference between the lower level trim models on the GCL and the top trim levels like the one we just signed papers for tonight. To start off with the, the interior is a huge difference. Let alone you're talking 50k compared to $74,000. It's what she wanted so she got it. However I am so afraid from seeing all the jeep issue comments. But every manufacturer has their own issues. I just can't see myself spending 50 grand for a darn Kia....maybe 20k but that's it. The Kia Telluride is a good vehicle to compare to the VW Atlas. And I'll tell you the atlas has its issue. Trust me I owned a 2018 Sel V6 with 4 motion. Underpowered and when I got on the inside of it I couldn't help but feel screwed in the butt as I couldn't find a single thing on the inside that made me feel like oh this is where my money went. Which is a huge factor in why we went with the GCL summit. No other SUV compares unless we are talking Bentleys or the Rolls Royce Cullinan. And at our income of 218k a year, those 2 are definitely out of question lol or believe me the Rolls royce would have won hahaha. People just need to stop bashing other brands specifically because it has 1 issue that another vehicle doesn't. Because I'm a betting man and I'll gladly put a glass on it that for every issue with a jeep or vw or Mercedes or Kia, the others have just as many issues lol. Be happy with what you drive and be happy others are able to drive too....although many shouldn't be behind a wheel. The Telluride is a nice suv. I just can't get over the price tag for a damn Kia. But then again it's 2022. I'm not surprised. So time will tell if we made a good choice. Hope it doesn't turn into a lemon. And if there are any typos, sorry not sorry. Not combing back through lolol. Also we won't see our GCL Summit as we ordered one so it had everything possible except the jeep logo mud flaps lol. Not for us. So we'll see in 4 to 6 months from today. Chose the GCL Summit because it comes with an air ride suspension that can be changed manually, we chose the 5.7 hemi, the pro tech group which includes nightvision, chose a 2 tone Baltic Grey exterior with a Grey Napa leather diamond stitched seats, 19 speaker stereo system, panoramic sunroof, an upgraded transmission (we do have a camper with a dry weight of 4,200 lbs and if truck is ever in shop or down etc then we can still use the GCL also why we went with the 5.7 hemi over the v6) and a lot of other stuff. The Kia doesn't come close to majority of that stuff. The highest end Telluride competes with the entry level GCL. That's not to knock it. It's just putting the statement out there that the Telluride should be compared to a VW Atlas or a Honda CRV etc.

Last I talked to the sales guy he said he looked it up and the order is waiting to be fulfilled aka built. I imagine it'll be another 2 to 3 months if I'm betting right. But I don't know it could be sooner or later. And yes 50k for a Hyundai or Kia is absurd. But the price of anything has gone up tremendously. As I'm sure you're aware.
