    The Wayside in Montpelier is unbelievable. All these old diners in New England are basically the village square now and are very representative of the community in most cases. Shyrls in Lebanon NH (basically White River Junction VT) is also absolutely delicious with lots of good people

    Diners! What we used to call malt shops in Brooklyn. Where you could get breakfast or a burger with fries, and those thick, tasty vanilla malts. Sooooo good back in the day.

    I really miss this kind of food. I first had this as a high school student from California. I instantly loved it. My family would take us to these diners after church, every other weekend. They were great.

    I grew up in my family's restaurant that started as a sandwich shop in the fishing port of Pillar Point Harbor, Princeton-by-the -Sea in 1975 washing dishes, bussing tables, peeling potatoes, running a manual cash register and mopping floors before and after school and weekends with my two sisters. I continued to work there over a twenty-six year period as it expanded and retracted over that time! It was definitely a focal point in the community not unlike a diner. It's been fifteen years since I've had a hand in it will always be a part of who I am! My younger sister still runs the business but with Covid, the increase in the costs, employee shortages, government restrictions, lease issues with the port, it's only a matter of time after 47 years! I strongly urge communities across our country to spend your money locally you can. The money you spend in your communities stays in your communities not in some Wall Street account! Small businesses used to make up over 50% of America's economy! We need to get back to our roots!

      @Duke_of_Prunes Před rokem

      As a small business owner in the South, I agree 100%. Big companies like McDonald's, Amazon, and Wal-Mart vacuum up the money in small communities, and then it's gone. Shop local, eat local!

    Very good. But might want to call this 'Vermont Diners, Sort Of'. Maybe come back now that things are picking back up. Really enjoyed what you have down here, so far. Looking forward to another version of this. Best diner stories are filmed in the winter, hopefully with snow outside (like yours here). Good stuff.

    As someone who grew up eating in Diners in southern New Jersey and Philadelphia and Lancaster County i agree that eggs made at home don’t taste like diner eggs. It’s the flattop and all that delicious goodness it holds lol 😆 I ate at diners four times a week as soon as i got my license to drive. I met friends and made friends there and it was an integral part of my life. Nothing like a snowy morning drinking a cup of coffee eating pork roll egg and cheese and chatting with the guy next to you about the previous night’s Eagles game. Kind of brings tears to my eyes tbh

    Excellent! I'm a native Central Vermonter and can vouch for these diners. Diners are the BEST! Indeed, the Birdseye Diner (Castleton) , Mary's Cafe (West Rutland) , Bob's Diner (!!!) ( Manchester), The Creek House Diner (Bethel), The Blue Benn (Bennington), the Rochester Cafe (Rochester), and the P&H Truck Stop (Wells River) .There a few others that escape my mind. Post pandemic my friends and I are back on the road hitting as many diners as possible. Notable mention for The Port Henry Diner in Port Henry, NY. New Hampshire diner fans also know the places to visit. I live for these places!!!

    This was fantastic! Please do a part 2 of these diners OR the Vermont sandwich scene which, in my opinion, is equally as good!
    I was born and raised 2rd generation Vermonter and I must say, it was a little sad not seeing Libbys Blue Line Diner (Winooski/Colchester boarder) here as I can safely say it was the absolute best diner in Vermont. Hands down.
    But there is so much more out there and a part 2 and even part 3 would maybe cover that!
    Great work and a very very heartwarming thing to see!
    Thank you!

    Diners are the best place to eat, maybe the food isn't the most healthiest but to share a greasy sandwich and fries with some buds is an awesome experience. i usually tip pretty good cuz i know these people bust their asses to give us a simple hot lunch and help us get on with our day. I have a favorite, in Buffalo, Iowa, Clarks Landing, definitely worth a visit to anyone who stops at the Quad Cities, you wont leave hungry and you get to see a slice of America that wont disappear anytime soon.

No idea how many times that oil reach the burning temp. Evil like me dont eat those junk. I am not loyal and never feel belong to somewhere or something.
