"Quarter Tank of Gasoline" Widespread Panic with Danny Hutchens & Eric Carter (Bloodkin) July 10, 2013 Idaho Botanical Gardens Boise, ID Directed by Andy Tennille
I met Danny and His Cousin Eric through a mutual friend who moved a few houses away from Danny in the late 1970s. For a few summers as kids We had something like a long distance get together "band". As kids I could see He had a good amount of the stage presence and talent of some of His heroes i.e. Bob Dylan, Jim Morrison. He played one or two parties in Detroit with us when He came for a visit. As I lost the chance to stay in touch. I am glad there is video to see and appreciate some of what I missed. Memories of time spent and 1 or two old cassettes of us jamming are good memories I hold on to. I still think those Early Songs He wrote as a Kid are great. Titles like " Lazy" "Spectors and Sirens" He brought out some good lead guitar from Me Keyboards From My Cousin and Bass From Our mutual friend. His brief influence is part of what led Me to write many songs I am proud of. R.I.P. Brother. Peace and Good to all His Family Fans and Kin.
The version played in Raleigh in June this year is the best or 2nd best versión I've Heard of this song since it was revived in ' 11 . Obviously the one here in ID is phenomenal .... Thanks for the one in Raleigh . It's one of the more lustrous moments in their career , amongst the really long list of that . - * Any other highlights from the summer ?? Many , The Cleveland show is All good . The High sierra show also is pretty good . And there were many great moments throughout .... And during the more ' difficult ' moments, this band knows how to pound through without problem . -
I thought Jimmy Herring's entire wardrobe consisted of flannel. Out of the 60+ times I have seen him perform, I do not think that I have ever seen his forearms...
