    I think the sarco is an underrated tame. It's fast and you can use weapons while on it, not to mention it can easily beat alpha megas if you just keep circling around the tail and striking, which comes to its next strength, fast attacks and good speed.

  • @kingdedede3814
    @kingdedede3814 Před 3 lety +313

    I think the sarco could be on the list as it’s very fast and you can shoot from the back, easing taming dinos like mosas or plesios, they are basically faster megalodons that can also go on land 👌
    Edit: you can also dismount players in smaller tames with the deathroll

      @thomasdevlin5825 Před 3 lety +25

      People crap on the sarco all the time and I honestly don't understand why. They are relatively easy to tame, and they have a very low saddle level compared to allot of the other things you use underwater, they're extremely fast, and to top it off they can flip 180° to attack behind them, giving them as massive advantage over pretty much anything else as they effectively have no turn radius

    • @ggsmrdoink

    Crystal Isles has Dunkys and Tusos on the beach. Go to the bottom left corner island and fly over the shore areas of that island to look for beached Tuso (got both mine there, used a Rex to bite the beached tuso while I ran up to the mouth to tame -this took a while cuz it didn’t want to attack because it’s beached, but after biting it for a while it retaliated and was tamed).
    Got my Dunkys from the beach nearest the dune desert near the charge node. Was charging my batteries and making element when I spotted their fins poking out of the water, so I trapped and tamed them with Dino gates.

    Just a side note in contest with other posters: Sarcos are good beginning tames but they have the same issue as the Mosa and Pleiso; they need to be facing the thing they are attacking and the turn radius is just disgusting. This is why the Basilo is the best overall underwater tame (barring an experience with the Tuso, which I have not tamed yet). You don't need to move or face your attackers on the Basilo. Just chill and fight. It doesn't get better than that. Also I think its one of the only underwater dinos that doesnt need to worry about jellys. Not even the mosa can claim that.

    So, I was about to quit ark altogether after being wiped by level 29473627 turret covered quetz over and over. Then I realized. Everyone mutates OP flyers, and flyers are useless in water. So thanks to this video I'm kind of solo dominating the ocean :)

    Basilo can't get "grabbed" buy a Tuso, but u can still get stuck in its tentacles, so it kinda works the same way.

    The reason the basilosaurus is op is because irl it literally was known as “the killer whale” it ate relatives of the elephant in seaside mangrove swamps. And other whales

    I would also add that the tuso can grapple even an alpha mosa and bring it into shallow water where it will not agro.

    Surprisingly rhynios can whoop ass in the ocean.... Made short work of everything in the sea(i know they are broken) only downside, they will straight up ditch you if get dismounted.. They hate being in water

    I think one of my biggest questions about water tames is that I try to listen for in videos in these while I’m working in the office is the safety. Like I know about the basilo being immune to knock offs / can’t be grappled, can’t be electrocuted. But what about like the mosa? Can the mosa be electrocuted? ?

    I know this video is a year old but for anyone else that watches this video in late 2021 and beyond, I learned the hard way that the Bola doesn't work on this creature. However, if you have access to the harpoon gun and nets, the Baryonyx can be trapped in the net and be knocked out quite easily,

    To start exploring the oceans would you recommend the Bary still or should I try and tame something like a meg before I try and go deeper?

    • @pterafier
      @pterafier  Před 2 lety

      Bary is definitely a a tame you'll use for specific situations, but to explore you'll definitely want something faster and stronger. Megs are good but mosas are better. Tusos are king but not as fast as mosas

    As someone who majored in Marine Biology: I dare anyone to look up “scary dolphin facts”.
    Dolphins are scary regardless of what era they’re in. They haven’t changed, they’re still the Ted Bundies of the Sea.
