  • Women control more than $20 trillion in spending globally, and with that spending power comes the opportunity - and, in fact, the responsibility - to wield that power wisely. To proactively support only those companies that align with our values and beliefs. To spend with purpose and with passion. To shift company policies and influence entire industries to do more… and do better. Let’s talk about the “power of the purse,” conscious consumption and how women can make a difference.
Diane is a recognized expert on the topic of marketing to women and moms, speaking at conferences across North America and Europe. She is a member of the Network of Executive Women, the National Retail Federation and the Retail Council of Canada and is a distinguished scholar of the In-Store Marketing Institute. She holds her bachelor’s degree in marketing from the University of Missouri and her MBA from Wake Forest University’s Babcock School of Management.

Do you want to be a conscious consumer? Start with the question: Do I really need to buy this?

Exactly. Some politicians would regard this approach as "anti-American', or worse, a traitor!!

This was such an important video and I'm surprised by how low the viewership is. So most people are not mindful yet and there is a huge room for that!

This was great. A bit ironic though discussing conscious consumerism and never seeing the wrongs of the meat and dairy industries, until the end. You didn't really talk about it though :/

Best mom, responding so positively to your young daught wanting to go vegetarian. When I went vegetarian at 9, my mom freaked out. (I've been vegetarian ever since, and vegan for the past 4 years. I'm 29.)
