McFly Interview: 'Power To Play', Mark Hoppus & Slam Dunk Festival

- McFly are back with their new rock-inspired album 'Power To Play', including the single 'Where Did All The Guitars Go?'. Working with producer Jason Perry, they enlisted co-writers including LostAlone's Steven Battelle and Blink-182's Mark Hoppus. We chat with Danny Jones, Dougie Poynter and Harry Judd about their biggest inspirations, playing a secret set at Slam Dunk Festival and their admiration for bands like WARGASM and Don Broco.

FINALLY McFly are getting the recognition they deserve as a seriously guitar oriented rock band. As they said at the start of the interview they were a gateway band for heavier music for a lot of people, including me, but these guys will always be my favourite.
McFly is brilliant. "Power To Play" album will be epic. 'Where Did All The Guitars Go?' song is a banger.
This is the most excited I've seen them be about an album and it's pretty cool, I'm happy for them, it looks like they got to a really good place as a band. Loved Where Did All The Guitars Go? It's quickly becoming one of my all time favorite McFly songs. Can't wait to hear the rest of the album it's gonna be a banger!
Land Of The Bees is just phenomenal

Route 55 is my favourite song on the album. Hearing Mark Hoppus wrote on it makes it more special.
James Bay co-wrote Forever's Not Enough too.
Please feature them more. That was the reason I stopped getting Rocksound here in Greece back in the day because you didn't feature bands like McFly and Busted.

Interesting. I liked Mcbusted. I LOVE Mcfly Ft. Mark Hoppus - Growing Up, but as a whole I don't really like Mcfly music, I could get behind this.
I've been a McFly fan since day 1 and can't wait for this next album! But YES Harry, sack off all of the hits and play b sides and album tracks next tour. No more All About You plz 😆
5 Colours In Her Her sounds rad live to be fair.
@@adamknight7904 5 Colours is not for me, never listen to it. But live..... it suddenly becomes one of my favourite songs of theirs. It's a fantastic live song.
