- In this video I'm taking you through what having spent 10+ years learning Chinese Mandarin has taught me and how you can do the same. Covering the importance of communications, what speaking Chinese has gained me in life and what kind of doors this has opened.
Funny, your English is so good now that I actually forget that you're not a native speaking American.
What is his native language?
Dutch 🇳🇱
lol i thought he was native american 😆
The US isn't the only place where people speak English. Nor is it the area where English originated from.
The consistency🔥🔥🔥
2 vids in 1 week. Thats what you call overdose love to see it
Def agree with the importance of immersing yourself in a country and its culture to learn the language
Loved the video bro. I'm Brazillian and started learning chinese because of you, saw your vids and they sparked me a big interest on learning Mandarin! 2 weeks and learning more everyday :)
nice to see you shed a light on speaking multiple languages in business. I think it's something which is severly overlooked.
You’re humble. And also you’re very smart. Two things that makes a good combinations
daniel, you are such a great guy. you're gonna bring it veeeery far, 100%ly sure about it!
Love this type of video, learned greatly from it
bro posting 2 bangers back to back
I found your channel one month ago and made a decision to learn Chinese in that day. I’m so happy about my learning it. Thank you for your inspiring videos ✨
Loved this one. Felt like a little private mentorship. I took a lot of value out of it. Dankjewel Daniel 🙏🏽
super motivational and quality is insane
Love it! ty for all the value
I'm a Japanese and Korean major and the things you mentioned about Chinese are exactly what is fascinating for me in Japanese (and korean to some extent). The way characters work makes so much sense to me and makes me think about conceptual differences in the way we speak and think. Thanks for this video!
man, how do youtube knows? Im actually living in China since last week, im 18 years old and starting to learn chinese now. im in Yiwu, Zhejiang. im brazilian and learn english when I was on high school and came here to learn one more language and improve my skills. this video is absolutely insane man, it really helped me a lot and gave me more on like the vision I came here with, keep with the hard work bro you are helping more guys than you really think you are. you are THE MAN 🔥👊🏼
Full cosign from a natively bilingual English & Mandarin speaker. Fantastic video!
appreciate you!
Great wisdom, market timing is like the perfect wave to surf 🌊🏄♂️
always the best contents🔥🔥🔥
As soon as he explained the four different tones in Chinese Mandarin I knew I had zero chance on learning this language lol
You are the ace of your business
im also studying chinese, im also majoring in business admin and im also nooot a native speaking american. i also learnt english with computers and youtube and social media. in the next couple of years im looking to move to china to study and learn a lot from life. the process is exciting. makes your channel as something i see myself doing in the future. dude i srsly love your channel.
Great content as always 🔥
great inspiration sir!
Thanks Daniel 🙌🏽🔥
one of yout best videos until here!
i just moved to china 3 months ago so i've been super curious about this. this language is so damn hard haha. thanks for this (i'm in Wuxi, nooo english)
Hey Daniel, iit's a wonder that there aren't more non-Chinese learning a language like Chinese Mandarin! There are some people that can learn a different langua ge other than their nstive tongue. Now that we conduct so much business in China, there should be a push to learn Chinese so we can improve our communication skills. Keep uploading more YT videos so we can learn more from you.🎉😮😊
no way you did speedart for cod gaming hahaha it's incredible how many people I know was playing cod when where young and now have several good businesses and jobs, cheers mate
haha did you find the channel?
@@danieldalen unfortunately not yet, but I've used to play CoD too, learned english just trickshotting and recording with some friends from the US, it was pretty fun, sometimes I miss those days hahaha
I love your videos and wait for them to come out every week. I'm just wondering which country you think has the best market timing as I've noticed that trends reach Serbia, for example, where I'm from, much later than they do Australia or the US. Also, could you explain what helped you gain all the knowledge on how to operate multiple businesses effectively all at once at such a young age, as well as balancing everything including learning Chinese but managing to come out on top of everything??
I would add that starting this process at 15/16 is also very smart, and huge factor, as the brain still a bit ‘flexible’. I learnt English for my master within a year and a half to reach not only fluency but an academic level. It’s been a lot of practice and as you said, going out there speaking with people, not being afraid to feel dumb. Showing up, again and again is the key! I’m now looking to learn Chinese since I started my master, but the four tones and not being in the country to practice is gonna make the process so slow. Anyone here is looking for someone with expertise in fashion, fluent in English and French? Knowing that currently french citizens don’t need a visa 😂

Amazing video just by the thumbnail
great video.
Gaaf om succesvolle nederlanders te zien, altijd leuk.
Thanks for the content Daniel. Would you still go through the effort learning Chinese with AI around the corner that can translate in realtime (e.g. GPT 4o)?
verry helpfull was this video
What would you say is the most important thing to start doing to achieve a business like yours?
Much appreciation from The Netherlands! Ga zo door!
Damn the parallels with learning a language and starting a business is kinda similar, rather fail quickly then start late
What’s the best way to start learning Chinese as a beginner?
Keep going 🔥🔥🔥
Hello, you have an excellent channel, thanks for the information) Please tell me what camera you shoot with?
fun to hear daniel, as i am living in Yangshuo for the last 16 years... you. went to omeida college?
What do you do as a business? I think Imma start to learn it aswell, I do ecom so probably beneficial
Love your videos! What camera are you using for the old style pictures?
Its mostly effects on davinci resolve
Hey daniel, i gotta know what camera you use to shoot your videos, thanks.
If you know English, you can travel around the world. But if you can speak Chinese, you will have a super factory resource.
Your English, at least, sounded great even back then, bro :D
Yo Daniel what camera do you use?
"I don't know, maybe it's because I'm Dutch". Hey from me Russian
❤
Hey Daniel, what are the best skills to learn as a beginner?
🤣

Thank you for inspiring me also creating content 🫶🏼
your second tone should be going up, not the same as the fourth one
No offense but your pronunciation for the 2nd tone and the 4th tone of ma sounds really close. Also when saying train "火车", your pronunciation makes it sound like "活车" (Alive car). You've done really well to learn it but I think this video should only be an example to teach the principles of Chinese but not the actual pronunciations.
let's not pretend his chinese is good for 10 years of focused learning. instead, he learned enough that he needs to get things done, and spent time on his business. imo, bit off when he pretends like his chinese is rly, rly good :P for 10y living in/aroudn china, it's not. But also, it's not like he spent ~2hrs/day for 10 years studying, probably hit his current level after a reasonable couple of years of focused study, and cruising since then bc it's good enough for what he needs. All fair.
So what exactly do you do to be successful besides making videos and Instagram. There are many Chinese origin people who can speak both English and Chinese particularly ones born in the US who can bridge the gap between the US and China lot better than you. Still have no idea yet what it is that made you successful
So you were enrolled in a private school in Guilin when 13, but then you say at 14,15 you were just a small town boy in Netherlands with a dream to go to China? It doesn’t add up
Just be honest that your parents provided you with great privilege from a young age to be multilingual and be exposed to the world
Africa is not a country 3:33
I mean he called Europe a country too… it’s not that important lmao
@@AlkaPwnige Its important to me
@@amandaxkira well then you should be able to realize he was not intentionally being malicious
@@AlkaPwnige I understand that you might not see the big deal, but respecting the diversity and individuality of continents and countries matters to me. It's not about assuming malicious intent, but there are 1.4B people, 54 countries, 1500+ languages and 3000+ ethnicities
@@amandaxkira Yes I know it’s a reductive statement and should be avoided I’m just saying his whole point was about embracing new cultures so it was just a mistake
