Thanks for another very well done tutorial. I’m getting back into wire work after several years of beading. So I’m checking out your tutorials on the basics. Thanks so much for sharing and making it so easy to follow.
Thanks Shirley! Welcome back into wire working!
Thank you sooo much...it's a beautifully done video and it helped me make my pendant...
I’m glad to find your video!! Easy to do with your explanation and demonstration...thank you so much!!🎈
Thanks Esther, glad you found us too! If you're interested in other wire wrapping techniques here's a playlist of the best tutorials we've done over the years, it's a bit long at this point, but shorter than browsing the whole channel: czcams.com/play/PLD72D1A7F255C3CFF.html
Perfect for earings

Holy moly, that's cool....I have often wonder how that was done. Thank you.
Elegant; yet fancy! Very beautifully done! Thanks for the video!
Thanks for sharing. This is something I will have to practice . I think this makes the earrings stand out more, and I've always wanted to try this but didn't know what size wire to use.
So 😎, thanks ❣️

Very nice I was wondering how to do this very well explain thanks
Precious ♡!!!!
tnx. beautiful!
Thank you for this video. Before I found video instructions, I found a junk bag of jewelry that had a crumpled up bracelet in it. From there I taught myself how to make the bracelet, and how to make the spirals. Once I made the first three turns on the spiral then instead of using the pliers like you do, I use my thumb and finger to continue making this spiral. I believe it gives me better control.
We've done wrapping by hand at moments like that too and works wonderfully. We tend to use pliers and other tools throught our videos because it helps us show as much of the work on camera as possible instead of covering it with fingers, but hands and fingers are great tools too.
The bead is Swarovski Crystal #5810 14mm Round Faux Pearls "Coral". You can get it on Beadaholique . com's website. The links for the supplies in this video are located in the video description underneath this video.

Thanks so much!
Thank you so much.
Glad we could help!
Very nice
You could also try to make that spiral with a pair of chain nose pliers, but it will be very hard to get a circular shape that way.
love it glad I found you thanks for sharing

Its so beautiful and actually y looks like it belong in James Avery!!!
Thank u i know what to make my mom now
thanks a lot, this information helped :)
Beautiful! Thanks ;O)
Trying this technique with something that is not a bead will be a lot harder because it is that center wire that runs through the bead which is stabilizing it. My best suggestion would be to take a cut piece of heavier gauge wire and create a loop on each end. I would then find the mid way point of the wire and press that against the midway point of your object.
now the glass bead wrapping video I just watched before this had very creepy music that scared me so I couldn't watch it. so thanks for not having creepy music :)
Legal, valeu!
Thanks for this tutoroal!..I'm wondering.....after you pushed up the spirals, is there a reason you didn't place the bead and THEN bend the two sides?
Watching in 2024.... thank you ❤
Hmmm... a round nose pliers is really best for this project since you need to get that circular shape started before you continue with your wrappings. If the initial circle is not even, your entire spiral will be off. Depending on the gauge of the wire, you could try wrapping it around a toothpick or other similar object - but heavy gauge wire will be too hard and awkward to wrap with just your fingers and not having a solid tool to grip it.
me encanta
I would carefully then start wrapping the object from the middle outward and create enough loops around so as to keep the object in place. Hopefully when you finish wrapping you will end up with a loop at the top of the object and one at the base. There will need to be quite a bit of experimenting done with this and you will need to judge if you feel that the cage is secure enough to actually hold the object in place. It will not look like the example in the video.
What gold wire do you recommend? Is gold filled my only option for gold wire that doesn't peel or lose color?
What brand of flat nose in the silver color and where can I buy them? Thank you
I think you may be referring to the bead that is demonstrated in the video: "How to Make a Coiled Wire Bead Wrap". If this is not what you were asking can you please clarify?
What is the advantage of using two different types of nylon-jaw pliers?
Hello! I love the looks of those nylon jaw pliers, that look like they have a clamping mechanism--is this correct? Where ever did you find those? They would be perfect for my hand pain.
Great tutorial. Want to try this, but stumped with 1 question: Depending on the bead size, how might you determine the wire length to cut and how large of a spiral to make? Is there a formula or rule of thumb? Don't want to make too big of a cage for small beads or too small of a cage for larger beads. Please advise.
Ouch no one responded lol
if you dont have a round nose plier what can you use instead?
Any tips for doing this with a stone that is *not* a bead, but still needs the loops top and bottom to join other pieces with?
There's another way to wire wrap beads,so they look like caged beads too :) x
Where did you get your nylon pliers at nine
by the way,at do you do if you don't want both of the ends to have a loop?
love it thank you =)
Thank your for sharing this. I was wondering how you would make the final part if the bead has no hole in it??
Instead of making the eye pin, you would need to bend one end of the cage up to make a loop.
What kinds of pliers are needed for this?
What size bead did you use?
Could I wrap stones in this same way? I think it would look beautiful!
junglepitts Yes you can if the stones are drilled.
Great, thanks for the reply!
Thanks!
Nicole I use kolaloka in the inner part of each spiral at the end
Great video! I've been searching since I watched it and I am so in need of the clamping (vice grip) nylon pliers you are using here. Where, oh where, did you find them?
You can find them here: www.beadaholique.com/eurotool-nylon-parallel-jaw-pliers-chain-nose-for-scratch-free-wire-work.html
It would be a different technique involved if you did not want to have a loop on both ends. I will try and think of a good way of doing it, and if I can, I will add the idea to our request board. I am sorry but right now I can not think of a good way of creating this bead without a loop on both ends (unless you just flattened one of the loops against the spirals).
Do you have a video on caged bead Pendant
Que pinzas utilizas
So if you don't want a loop on both ends, can't you use a head pin with a smaller bead between the head pin and the caged bead? Then make the one loop out of the other end of the head pin. Seems simple enough.
It's beautiful and not too complicated. Will try it . Where do u get the beads with the center hole? Thanks
You can find those center drilled faux pearl beads here: www.beadaholique.com/swarovski-elements-crystal-faux-pearls-5811-large-hole-round-beads-14mm-2-pieces-coral.html
Hi! Can a 6mm size semi precious stone fit in gauge 20 or 8mm size wire? Thank you
rachel rachel A 6mm bead should fit into an 8mm jump ring. I have found that a lot of semi precious stones vary slightly from their described size. You will want to do a little experimenting to make sure it fits.
So double the length to 16 inches for double the size for other spheres non bead wise. 12,16,20in.
