    Long story short. I live in Scandinavia left the car 2 weeks out in cold due to vacation came back blower did not work. checked fuse and basic electrical nothing worked. Saw the video followed exact steps (except used wd40 due to unavailability of oil type) turned on the car and switched on the blower viola!!! works like a charm. Though video is 5 years old the car was older so still same system :) Thanks mate and Yo Bazzoh you are the man! hats off too you saving me time and money

    To anybody who has this kind of problem (like me - note: mine is a E87). In most cases, the noise is due to a bad lubrification of that part: note that you can see and reach that part just removing the cabin air filter (just unscrewing 6 crews) and using a 20cm straw for the spray lubrificant. It is quite enough, if the fan is not stuck.
    Thanks to the author of this video, because I woundn't have been able to recognize the part without haven't seen the video before.

    Won't the oil interfere with the electronics inside that thing?

    • @Bazzoh
      @Bazzoh  Před 5 lety +2

      I don't think so as the parts exposed are just the magnets and electric coils which are insulated in any case. The electronics that control speed, etc are likely housed in the control unit in the centre column. However, in saying that, I did a quick search online and there are oils that are specifically designed for electric motors so I would suggest purchasing those. Other oils can cause excessive wear of the motor. Since I posted this video 3 years ago it has worked fine and I haven't had to lubricate again.

    Sadly my motor was too siezed up for this to work, but replacing it cost £100 for the part (brand new) and removing it is 90% of this video.

    • @Bazzoh
