One used to have to be born here or at least a naturalized citizen to win an American title. I know I'm not the only one thinking this either. She's a US citizen, speaks perfect American English, Educated, Intelligent and competes in Miss America which is based on educational merits, talent, more than beauty. Miss America doesn't even have a swimsuit competition. Not that she isn't beautiful and she's an excellent speaker. I'm surprised at all the negative responses without even knowing her story. It’s not just a beauty contest, it’s about a well rounded woman. All the women are beautiful so they look at intelligence, achievements, poise, and communication skills. This woman is amazing but some of ya’ll have to get past her skin color because that’s all you kind of folks see.
