This band reminds me of this romantic fling I had at a summer camp when I was in high school. I was too scared to say anything to her, and a few days before the camp ended, a mutual friend shoved us together and told us to go talk. I discovered that she also had feelings for me. We ended up staying awake all night on the last night stargazing. Nothing sexual. Just cuddling and talking. We didn't even kiss. When camp ended, I never saw her again. On one hand, I still feel that ache that I felt thinking about what could have been and sadness that it was so short. But on the other hand, I'm so happy that I got to experience something like that at all. So it is with BLA and their small amazing discography.
No song normally hits this close to home for me. This reminds me of all the memories I made in my transition to high school when I was around 15. One of the more major ones of them was this one girl who I met at a summer camp and I had a huge crush on. I remember talking to her for hours late in the night and even teaching her guitar on her bed but it all really lead nowhere and although it felt bad, I needed to leave her behind and understand that fate just wanted me to move on. I’m now in a relationship that’s lasted for a fairly long time and I am extremely grateful for what I’ve become and where I’ve gotten. However, I couldn’t help but cry at the thought of all that had happened in my teen years and I cannot thank BLA enough for letting me experience these feelings for a few more times before they’re just distant memories.

this song makes me cry. my best friend lives halfway across the country and i only get to see him mainly in the summer. his an online friend and has a really controlling mom so its hard to talk to him so much. i've genuinely never felt closer and im so blessed to know him. This song reminds me so much of him and i listen to and asociate him with it alot. okumay was one of the last albums i listened to perusing the brave little abacus' discography and i had always heard so much fanfare about this song and when it started, it didn't really click in. until the 2 minute mark holy fuck this song is beautiful
I want to write something as beautiful as this I think I did, but I have my doubts. A lot of doubts. None of that keyboard that sounds like a violin and a pedal steel - must be the pitch wheel going haywire.
