I just looked up this song after watching a video sermon of Holly and pastor Steven sitting conversational style. Pastor said a couple lines from the song and I felt it hit me deep. Almost knocked me over as I stood in my kitchen. I’m currently trying hard to recover and heal from a life long battle being continuously tormented by my traumatic and very abusive childhood and teenage years. I feel so unworthy. I hate myself. And I’ve been working with my therapist on self acceptance because that’s much more achievable for me right now than self love. I have very strong faith and my relationship with God And my spiritual journey as went side by side with my healing journey. But I can tell you. I NEEDED THIS. I NEEDED THIS SOO BADLY. I have no parents or family older than me or anyone to tell me that I’m doing a good job or that they’re proud of me. And even at age 42 it’s words I crave that I never got from my parents before they died. And I am trying to not need that from anybody but instead to be proud of MYSELF. But with such self hate and not feeling I have any value. It’s impossible. But this song. 😢 PRAISE GOD. Because HE IS PROUD OF ME!!!!!!! Thank you for this song. I just looked up this song after watching a video sermon of Holly and pastor Steven sitting conversational style. Pastor said a couple lines from the song and I felt it hit me deep. Almost knocked me over as I stood in my kitchen. I’m currently trying hard to recover and heal from a life long battle being continuously tormented by my traumatic and very abusive childhood and teenage years. I feel so unworthy. I hate myself. And I’ve been working with my therapist on self acceptance because that’s much more achievable for me right now than self love. I have very strong faith and my relationship with God And my spiritual journey as went side by side with my healing journey. But I can tell you. I NEEDED THIS. I NEEDED THIS SOO BADLY. I have no parents or family older than me or anyone to tell me that I’m doing a good job or that they’re proud of me. And even at age 42 it’s words I crave that I never got from my parents before they died. And I am trying to not need that from anybody but instead to be proud of MYSELF. But with such self hate and not feeling I have any value. It’s impossible. But this song. 😢 PRAISE GOD. Because HE IS PROUD OF ME!!!!!!! Thank you for this song. I’ve had it on repeat for hours but is LITERALLY FEEDING MY SOUL. Thank you
