- Speeding through the Moroccan desert to attend an old friend’s lavish weekend party, wealthy Londoners David and Jo Henninger (Ralph Fiennes and Jessica Chastain) are involved in a tragic accident with a local teenage boy. Arriving late at the grand villa with the debauched party raging, the couple attempts to cover up the incident with the collusion of the local police. But when the boy’s father arrives seeking justice, the stage is set for a tension-filled culture clash in which David and Jo must come to terms with their fateful act and its shattering consequences.

Can’t we just agree already that no one looks at the comments to hear “looks awesome, can’t wait to see it.” Seriously just watch the movie and then say something.
Looks awesome can't wait to see it
@duddy buddy
🤣🤣🤣
Good observation
What a great movie! Can't wait to watch this trailor of it!!😊
When I saw John Michael McDonagh wrote and directed it, I was 100% in. Love the McDonagh brothers!
Ralph Fiennes never fails to deliver. I cannot wait to see this on the big screen. A good thriller is exactly what we have been waiting for.
It is on the "big" screen now...at least in NYC. I saw it yesterday at the cinema. But the "big" screen for a film like "Forgiven" is not as big as maybe the big screen for the new Tom Cruise movie or the new J. Park film. I wish the screen for the smaller independent films like "Forgiven" were as large as the screens for the huge blockbuster films. They are maybe half as big in width, height and length.
@@jackjules7552 I agree. Sadly post covid pandemic, studios are reluctant to risk playing smaller tier movies on a wider theatrical release. If enough go to watch, it could reverse that trend.
I agree about Ralph Fiennes. He’s great in every part he plays. Spot on every time.
it's hard to believe, fiennes has not won an oscar yet.
He deserve won an oscar in Schindler’s List
It’s alot of people that deserve them but they only invite them to the award ceremony for viewers not to give them the actual award.
@@ElioPerlman17 i'd say he deserved one for that, and at least the english patient and red dragon. At least.
That‘s what I was thinking.
And hard to believe he seemingly hasn’t aged!
Im about to watch for the first time, starts in about 15 minutes. I will watch anything with Ralph Fiennes in it, been a fan since English Patient.
This is one of my favourite movies. What a brilliant thriller.
Just saw it. The trailer is probably better than the movie. Some people will love it, others not. For those saying can’t wait to see a great thriller, sorry but it isn’t a thriller. I’m glad I saw it.
It’s amazing. Ralph Fienes, is sublime
i love this movie and the twist of it!
👏🏽 👏🏽 👏🏽 loved it
He is an excellent talent...
Another kind of drama, great conversations, different cultures
Very good movie! Loved it all the way ! Sad for the ending..
Excellent. What an interesting movie.
We were among the participants in this film, the Gnawi band 😀
Ohhh that’s great! Loved the music y’all were playing in that scene!!! I was actually looking for the song!!
Anyone know name of the track that starts from 1:05 please?
Great movie
can't wait!
Jessica Chastain looks stunning in some shots
Must watch movie The Menu, with Ralph Fiennes
If Liam Neeson and Harrison Ford had a son.
Hahahaha excellent
Looks interesting
Wow 😮
Id rather watch the unforgiven again,
Good trailer
Well Morocco is safe and it's people highly hospitable i can tell you that. The movie portrays us as villains apparently.
Looks good though.
The film talks about the south of morocco being controlled by IS-I+S ! without mentioning the collection of exagerated streotypes and biases about corruption, religion, clothing ...the scene where talks about foreign men doing things with little arabs (kids) etc... Apparently this film was supported by moroccan tax payers money through an organisation called "morocco shooting and support" which appears in the intro of the film... it's quite sad how the moroccans contributed to a film that portrays the country as a giant unsafe desert where everyone is refered to as "arab" in the most demeaning way possible... locals being servants rather than employees ! Did they not read the script before approving ?
Safe and hospitable!! I lived there for four years and a half and I can tell you that many of my co-workers got mugged especially the foreigners, there was even an attempt of kidnapping once of a Moroccan co-worker who escaped from a gang that beat him very badly at the train station in order to kidnap him.
I won't even talk about the corruption, drugs, and all the bad things I saw or experienced there, I was even discriminated against by the police administration because I wasn't a Caucasian, while they treated Europeans like VIP's.
@@humanbeing8598 i think all you mentioned is present in every 1st world country . We are just a third world country . So not bad isn't it?
@@creativ.medium
There's some people that call themselves liberals, i think they are the ones behind all this. They support everything that stands against moroccan identity.
Anywhere there is islam, it can’t be as peaceful as you think
The background music in this movie is so sad
Hi can ANYONE tell me who the shoe designer is please for THOSE black up the leg shoes worn by Jessica Chastain in this movie.🤞
I would be very grateful.🏅
What an assignment
Well, its not The Guard, ah sure, will give it a go!
A very long journey! Starts with great light and continues into darkness. Jessica Chastain's character very patient! Ralph Fiennes seems edgy, and misogynistic driver! But, seems like he's not the lead character here? Moroccan, its 'culture' described in dialogue, pretty native or tribal - who would live in this zone? Interesting!:)
I saw this movie a long time ago. I'm positive. How is it this is coming to the theaters now?
Lol. We’re you high when you wrote this?
Hasn’t this been in the can for a while?
Looks like los and. Half of the city is in sheer shambles.
Watched in a packed theatre. I heard the people eating popcorn and some guy nervously tapping his foot throughout the movie(probably due to impatience) and some people whispering all while watching the movie. The theatre is so quiet so is the movie. The movie felt like reading a book during peak summer in a middle of a dessert under the shades of palm tree while having a cold drink.
It's not a regular movie and it is definitely not one of your popcorn movies .
Did I love the movie? Maybe
Did I hate the movie? Maybe
Did I enjoy the movie? Maybe
Loved the stunning visuals and cinematography though
was your comments helpful ? maybe.. you trying to be a writer, maybe..
@@goldenglove8513 ayooooo i spat out my breakfast 😭
@@mohamoudahmed107 🤷🏼♂️ lol
Bro ….
At least you didn't spoil it...
What the hell, where's Abbey Lee?!
Looks stressful
Don't be bloody stupid, this is the turn!
Looks like anti-Western agitprop, and Chastain is Kryptonite to good films.
I suspected as much
Just don't look at this spoiler. SEE the MOVIE.
Why?
What a great fucking movie. Superb cast, excellent screenwriting.
Try Hitchcock.
He dies people …he dies at the end..
Not a bad way to spend two hours but don’t expect anything novel, it’s a cliche from start to finish.
Yes it is. A total waste of 2 hours.
another example how missleading a trailer can be. it had potential but it wasn't used at all. total waste.
this is a movie about Humanity, displaying male culture, male and
female nature
Unrespectful people.
Pure decadence. I love the man spitting in the master's glass.
Syriana?
Everything must be faced David , do it ..
Morocco. 🇲🇦. Never show something except desert 🙃😅 ok
The story is set in the desert, it’s not set in the city
😮🤔
Chastain is the hottest woman in Hollywood
ONLY MOVIE SPECIALIST ON COMENTS
Why is this film an 18?
Due to drug usage in the movie
Morocco 🇲🇦 in my country that's fantastic 👏 .
Well. They portrayed your country as unsafe terrorist pedophile ravaged country.
Yaaay
باغيين غير طبلو سير شوف لفيلم عاد اجي صفق ههه
Looks like a snoozefest.
It is a bit
Its definitely not a snoozefest, it has some flaws...but its very tense, its quite dark in terms of its subject matter...and at times its quite heartbreaking.
The film gives a very bad picture of Morocco and Africa, and shows a stereotypical picture of Africa, ignorance, poverty, randomness, underdevelopment...
The story is set in the desert and so that’s what they show
Well are they wrong?
@@SB-od9slyrs. They are! Morocco is almost in Europe.
sounds boring, even more boring than the trailer
I watched the movie yesterday, I really liked it. The european and american characters are disgusting people ALL of them, except maybe Ralph ay the end. It was better than I thougth it's be.
Europeans and Americans are usually vilified in film these days. Let me guess, the movie justifies revenge, torture and ignorance?
They weren't disgusting. They were human.
You think being woke means you call all WP "disgusting" 🤣🤣🤣
is this another 'white people are bad' film?
Of course!
Nice! Filmed in Taallalte. been there lot of times,
Looks Boring 🙅♂️🤷♂️
It was
sad for ralph because he's a great actor but this look like a f...g boring crap. i pass
@@HGoyas still he is
kinda like out of Africa a film from 1985 😅
Oh is that Jessica Chastain!?!!? yep, so just another film to avoid.
Is that Andi Tezda saying that? Just kidding he's a nobody lol
@@fjfucjdi093jfe Why do you assume I am a male? I don't assume YOU are.
@@anditezda3462you're smart! This movie was boring as dust and so was she.
Gross
well I'm not a typical leftist as one person but strangely enough you guys are all not lol
BOY COTT WONT WATCH
Why are you boycotting? The movie was actually good. Why are we supposed to boycott this film?
This movie was boring, to the point I fast forward. I knew the father wasn’t going to let him live and have the friend kill him… I hate movies that I can figure out midway what’s going to happen 🗑🗑🗑
What a 🍩
So you needn’t spoil it for everyone else
@@harmony3395 spoiled it? It was literally in the trailer lololol
The father didn't send him.
When Fiennes leaves the compound without somebody accompanying him with a separate vehicle and as a translator, the whole film collapses. Where is the Continuity Director, to ensure that a logical progression is maintained? So many movies these days fall down the same hole, thinking that the audience is brain dead and will never notice. The film is swimming in self-absorption and such a laughable omission sinks it like a stone. 🦨🦨🦨🦨🦨
I dont know why people go to the east to enjoy when the west has all natural beautiful places....I am from the east now in the west, let me tell you, its not that great in the east than the west
Because white folks like to experience different cultures
director really out here blaming marvel movies for the bad reviews on this film lmao
