I have a lip balm I got that my dad bought me on a family vacation. I was about 8 or 9 so about 30 years ago!!!! 😱 he had since passed so I just keep it as a keep sake.

Plot twist: makeup doesn’t actually expire. It’s just a gimmick😂
I can see mascara and liquid products expiring they either dry up or separate. I don’t understand how we have to throw good quality eyeshadow palettes out though. I just wipe mine down with a tissue when I’m finished to keep it fresh. Unless you have an eye infection, or have shared your makeup I see no reason to throw out powder products such as blush.
I’ve had 6 year old lipsticks they were gooey and weird I was too scared to try my 6 year old foundation lol and mascara I’ve tried a year old mascara and got a horrible eye infection
Makeup definitely expires.
There’s active and inactive ingredients. The active ingredients are what expires.
Eyeshadow also expires, have you never noticed really old shadows get powdery and lack in pigment (especially Naked palettes)?
I mean look at Laura’s old products, they speak for themselves lol.
When I was in highschool I used mom's 10 year old lipstick and eyeshadow and I was fine

My oldest makeup product is something I never even used when I bought it hahaha it was a loose super orange super shimmery bronzer by bonne bell. I bought it at Kmart when I was in 9th or 10th grade. I've been out of highschool for 16 years this June hahaha so it's like 18 years old at least and I still have it. I just cannot bring myself to get rid of it.

THANK YOU for not taking being able to treat your mom for granted. My mom sacrificed so much for my brother and I, and we couldn’t wait until we were able to just spoil her and give her everything she wanted. Unfortunately my mom just passed away extremely randomly in January and my world has been flipped upside down. I lost my mom, my best friend and my hero. I’m so glad you realize how lucky you are.

I remember hitting pan on the shade sin in the naked palette and my parents took me to sephora to get the single of it. I still have it after all this time!!
Same here, but it was in the original UD ammo palette and my mom took me to ulta when I ran out to get a single shadow of it which was my first single shadow from them! I was obsessed with the color and thought it was the perfect color to wear during my high school years! All these years later and I still love the shadow and the single is still going strong ! 😊
