That moment is here and has been for some time. Could it lead to violence? It already HAS led to violence. We lost truth because people have become loyal to a party like they are loyal to a football team. And they don't even care what they stand for. They just want to win.

Perfect analysis. Nobody is interested in reasoned argument leading to a conclusion. There is ONLY tribalism.... It's like Northern Ireland 1969 on a grand scale... NO front lines required, just terrorism.... Reading CZcams comments..nobody says "You are right I have changed my mind". Floating voters (persuadables) have evaporated and an un-elected, un-firable, un-appealable partisan Supreme Court is now in charge of the country ... They could confirm Compulsory Church tithing and gun ownership etc .. Easily.. They own the country now... The coup happened and was successful

A civil war would be more harmful than the actual war itself. Police would divide because not all views are the same, military would divide because of the same reasons, and literally everything will be split into eventually fighting against your own friends, relatives, coworkers, fellow soldiers, students etc.. We would see mass exodus of people moving to a certain half of the city/state/country like a mass migration to establish fortifications to sides. its an absolute worst case scenario for the future of America. It won’t be like the first civil war and it won’t even be comparable because of the connections we have to one another today. Everyone would lose.

I don't see two sides moving further apart. I see one side essentially staying in the same place and the other side moving further and further away. Example: 100% of all people in the U.S. could define what a woman is 5 years ago. Now, a good chunk can't do that anymore. The same people get angry because they're called a he rather than a she, or a she rather than a they. These aren't universal issues that people are dealing with around the world. These are people in the United States who are looking for a fight and creating excuses to explain away their anger at the world and to have a reason to say they "oppressed" -- So much progress has been made in this country that people are literally having to go out and create reasons to say they're oppressed. Let that sink in. They're going to get the fight they're looking for, too. Their failed policies are causing hardships on everyone. But, do they admit it and reverse course? No, they're doubling down!

One side rioted and committed numerous acts of violence in various cities over an entire summer and then acted surprised when the other side rioted and went crazy for a few hours in one location. We may never see a presidential election conceded ever again. Both sides are now willing to resort to violence to get their way.
