    I love that Creative Juggernaut is making these, this is the second time I've run into a mention of this project, but it is driving me crazy that their website is still effectively non-existent. It's kind of irritating to be shown these models and not being able to learn anything else about them.

      I understand waiting for cool stuff can be frustrating but the reality is that the Stormcrow review was a pre-production proof, and the current Black Knight is the result of refining their process and is production worthy. The models will be sold through the Catalyst Game Labs store so keep a look out for announcements.

    Very nice. This is how i would love all mechs to be.
    I understand that pre-built models are very practical to quick start or people new to the hobby, but nothing beats a multi-part mini.
    Think of a omni-mech box with all of the options in it, you could even magnetize it as to not waste the extra parts

      Agreed. Much of the BT charm is that even the most humanoid mechs look like they're the worn-out the walking love child of an 80s muscle car and a main battle tank. This thing looks too flexible by half.

    • @CamoSpecsOnline
      @CamoSpecsOnline  Před 3 lety

      For now it seems that Creative Juggernaut and CGL will be focusing on the unrepresented and new mechs that IWM wasn't making anyway. The TC variants for example are quite recent and IWM is still getting through the metal releases of the earlier box sets prior to the Clan Invasion designs.

    • @heavygauss
      @heavygauss Před 3 lety

      I suspect because it makes it easy to assemble it solidly. At some point after I shot the video and before I took the still photos for the end, I dropped the mini onto a hardwood floor from about 4 feet up and none of the pieces came loose.

      @@ShroudedSciuridae You've clearly never looked on Ebay for the Unseen mechs, Marauder II going for 75-150+ regularly, etc. Hell people selling "Blue blisters" for 25+ even if it's a regularly available. Is there any other variant to the right arm? I really would wish for a bent version. It looks like it might be a bit difficult to cut it up and reposition but at this point can’t really tell. Other than that I’m really hype for this one :)

    • @CamoSpecsOnline
      @CamoSpecsOnline  Před 3 lety +1

      There’s no alternative right arm. However the Catalyst regular plastic release from wave two of the clan invasion Kickstarter will be posed differently so you could swap that in.

    It’s a great model, but mine came with major mold slippage. Going to have to rebuild most of the PPC with greenstuff. Not totally unexpected given the boutique nature of the model, but for the price a little QC would have been appreciated

    • @CamoSpecsOnline

    What sort of plastic was this done in?

    • @CamoSpecsOnline
      @CamoSpecsOnline  Před 3 lety

      It's a type of cast plastic, I'm not sure of the material and Creative Juggernaut hasn't stated. I think they're still trying out a few types to find which works best for retained detail quality over time with mold usage.

  • @andrewraichlin
    @andrewraichlin Před 2 lety

    So the assembly is incorrect, I just learned about this today comparing my clanbuster against the one from the wave 2 comstar lance pack and looking at the 3d rendering of the black knight from catalyst, the pelvic joint in the assembly vid is backwards, you want the split panels in front.

    • @CamoSpecsOnline
      @CamoSpecsOnline  Před 2 lety

      The clan buster Black Knight as well as the Stormcrow Creative Juggernaut both differ slightly in minor details than the plastics from CGL and the artwork. In this case the hip section on the Black Knight has an armor panel on both front and rear of the pelvis over the vertical split. They may have changed this with the production Black knights as all of the ones currently shown on camospecs.com as well as the versions in the videos here are pre-production samples.

    Is there a hatchet? The BL-9-KNT Clanbuster variant had a hatchet not a sword.

    • @ShroudedSciuridae
      @ShroudedSciuridae Před 3 lety +6

      In the early days a Sword, Hatchet, and Axe were all functionally identical. The BL-9 was introduced in Tukayyid (1994) and we didn't get Swords as separate equipment until Master Rules (1998).

    • @tullyDT
      @tullyDT Před 3 lety +2

      The art depicted it holding a sword, but in the fluff and rules they said it was a 5-ton hatched that was shaped like a sword. Think of it as being like a cleaver

    • @heavygauss
      @heavygauss Před 3 lety +1

      As others have mentioned, the sword-like object is the "hatchet". Sometimes in the art the BL-9-KNT weapon is shown more like a sword, and other times (like in the Black Knight "Ian" mini) it looks like a hatchet. I think at one point MFUK make a cleaver-like sword attachment for the old Black Knight mini. Anyway, I view it as part of the new Battletech art style, but that's just my opinion.
