I am so glad you are feeling better, what an awful month. We have constant brief outages here in Maryland, we have a generator now. Hoping for a smoother June for you!
I am so sorry that you lost so much food. We had a few problems like that back in the 1950-60’s. My grandmother taught mom to keep canned goods in the house, along with a couple hand-cranked can openers so that we could survive on cold food right out of the cans, if necessary. Not tasty, but we only lost one week of produce/frozen foods.
I never thought about long-term power loss and paying bills. That is scary. Most of my payments are automated, but a couple aren’t. Hmmm…

I definitely stocked up my canned food and dry goods! Luckily we have a gas stove that I can light with a lighter, so we can at least heat up chili and beans and make rice and pasta and stuff. And I've learned my lesson to not keep the freezer fully stocked in storm season anymore! Thank you so much for watching.
I am so sorry you've been dealing with all of that. My brother and his family were on a very old grid in my hometown for long time and had a generator for their house. I am not sure if they've had issues since they moved or not. Good plan to buy smaller amounts until your issue is fixed. Hope you're feeling much better these days!
