Ah, Sue Heck. Always forgotten, clumsy and awkward as hell and so clueless about so many things and yet so boundlessly optimistic and cheerful that it's impossible to feel bad for her. Great character.
I like how her essay actually sounds like how a middle school girl would write it .. generally in movies n TV shows , they show kids extremely smart and writing stuff that clearly shows it's been written by an adult.. like using big words.. Sue's essay was sweet, simple yet touching
"being dismissed by people who think they know better is not an obstacle to winning a noble prize" this is why i love her character so much... she's just so much more... love this show...
This whole episode is fantastic. Sue trying to prove her hypothesis only to have a baby cry at her, and how even through her tears still tries to elicit smiles as she walks down the hall! (One of the funniest moments of the series) And then this beautiful moment when her theory is proven by none other than her science teacher as he gets HER to smile! Wonderful moment!! And deliciously subtle!
The funniest part of this episode, and also the saddest, is earlier when Sue is walking down the hallway...she's crying because she fears she will get a failing grade on her hypothesis, then she keeps switching off from crying to smiling to crying to smiling....I love Sue Heck.

this seriously made me cry because i think just like her a smile can brighten up someone's day and if you can make just one person smile then it was all worth it

I could never be anywhere near as optimistic as her. And yet despite her blind and foolish optimism, things often work out for her.
