It's a smart joke in large part because it's a logical but really skewed connection that you probably haven't thought of exactly in this way before. It works because of how a peach is shaped, and how it's soft, and also in this case because of her age at the time and the fuzz on a peach. By the way, when a joke is explained, it's ruined.

I know it's similar to the word quirky, but in the south that word can carry a negative cogitation and is often met with poor reception. So we like to mix in little slang with our compliments and use the word corky instead.

My friend did that exact thing when he broke up with his girlfriend while his friends were around...I was one of the friends. I just sat there playing on my phone. His girlfriend was so rude about it though. She was always yelling at him and calling him names sometimes she hit him. So we were their for moral support just in case she threatened him or something like that

I got dumped this way the day I had my cancer biopsy. So I'm sitting there in terror and I get this call because my friend (dating one of his mates) told him that, before I'd even MET HIM, I'd fancied his best friend. So the four of them-my friend, her boyfriend, my boyfriend and his best friend, all called me up on speaker, is it true, is it true. The fact that I'd never met him when it happened didn't matter a bit. The friend I'd once fancied chimed in to insult me, my boyfriend cut the cord, and they hung up laughing.
