Bright Minds Teacher Grant: HCPSS Concrete Canoe Challenge

Bright Minds Foundation, the education foundation of the Howard County Public School System (HCPSS), was a proud supporter of the HCPSS Civil Engineering and Architecture career academy and its Concrete Canoe Challenge during the 2024-2025 school year. The academy used the American Society of Civil Engineers college-level Concrete Canoe Challenge as a capstone learning experience to demonstrate knowledge obtained during the two-year career and technical education program. Participating students not only achieved their project goals, but also graduated prepared and excited to pursue future engineering careers that meet critical workforce needs. We would like to make this capstone learning experience a yearly tradition and are seeking funding, materials, and technical assistance to support this project.
