    Once you've done a head chin tilt lift, will their head stay in that position, or do you have to maintain it/keep your hands on them the entire time?

      If they are an unbreathing casualty try to maintain the position, if the airway is clear and you have a solid grasp, you don't want to lose the position and let the airway close again. This is assuming there are two people and one person can give breaths and the other can give compressions. If it's a singular responder, then you must let go of the head in order to give compressions.
