yup, same here. was a day five eve player, walked away in 2014. Old CA then BOB player, the quit cold turkey, five accounts closed.
The game is fun if u don’t take it or yourself too seriously. I enjoy it a ton by largely ignoring social media, grabbing a glass of whiskey , and mashing potatoes. Stone the crows

Skill rework and they are going to force us to test it then go back and make another overhaul of what they screwed up.
Just found your channel about a week ago. Just started playing WoWS. Honestly man ty for the educational videos. You showed me why the learning curve is about 10 times as hard as I thought it was. your the only person I have came across that coaches well.

I agree, I've pretty much entirely quit wows at this point. They only winning move is not to play the game. We'll see if enough people take that course of action and whether they give enough of a damn to course correct.
That movie you were trying to think was "War Games" with Matthew Broderick and Ally Sheedy about simulating nuclear war on the NORAD Cheyenne mountain Computer. The computer said that it did the simulation numerous times and came to the conclusion that the only winning move was not to play.

World of Warships: A game with warships in it, that is mostly about warships getting mauled by planes and someday warships getting mauled by subs. I have a feeling I'm going to wind up uninstalling one way or another.
I'm totally looking forward to respeccing 58+ commanders because CDR rework for some reason. I think I'll just uninstall instead.
I'm convinced the biggest reason for the upcoming skill change is so they can shift more towards selling premium captains that you have to buy. Special captains that give you a major leg up.
The more often WeeGee cheats on me the more convinced I am that it's time to start seeing other games.

I was a Beta Tester for WoT and played competitively in a good clan Wallet Warriors for a good while. I had around 15k battles and kept a almost Unicum stats playing solo. I stopped playing WoT because it was getting more and more predatory IE: Defender, IS3a all the premiums that were way better than the tech tree ships and then doing false scarcity on said ships for more money on crates. I ended up with those OP tanks but i still did not like I had to get those new shiney's to be meta relevant.
I Beta tested WoWs as well. I played both games till i finally felt like the WoWs development was doing it correct and was tired of the WoT team. I play WoWs off and on over the years and go through spurts where i play a couple months hardcore. The PR, ARP Yamato, Satan Crates, Research BS, Locking legendary's behind Research points has put a even worse taste in my mouth than WoT. I'm an Officer for a clan and most of the guys are feeling the same way. We are just tired of WeeGee being so so greedy and not even trying to hide it anymore. Every single decision is now based on making us pay more money. All the good premiums or ships come out way better then the tech tree ships.. They sell for awhile then they remove them to then sale again in crates etc.. making them "rare" and expensive.
Moving legendary's behind research was to make you reset lines knowing most would dump converted XP to go back up the lines to get the modules. Same with putting some of the best OP ships in research.
I miss CV RTS, I miss battles lasting over 10 minutes. I'm tired of having to read every single Special sale and trying to read between the lines or making sure i understand what it is saying like Black friday missions on Black ships only showing the ship name with a non B and not actually specifying in wording That the mission is only for the non Black Edition ship and you must own the Standard Version to complete said mission. I know they did this on purpose because they knew people would miss read it. I read it correctly but many many others did not ( at least 6 in my clan read it wrong).
I think i'm done with spending money, I have about a year of premium time left. BTW I have spent a metric fuck ton worth of money on both games hell I even have Type 59, and a ARP Yamato.

It's my first year with WoW so I only bought one container before the shite hit the fan on them. I'm glad the users brought this all to the front, but i was looking forward to getting a really decent ship. Didn't buy any more boxes.

Yeah, Going into 2021 is going to be interesting, especially with the Commander Skill Rework being dropped on us next month. But, I am looking forward to the Italian battleships.

If you have interest in submarines I'd recommend giving Cold Waters a try. It's a sub sim game. Would recommend getting the epic mod for it cuz it increases the sim factor to it lol you can even play surface vessels in it as well but, keep in mind the game was originally made for submarine warfare so you can only do so much with the surface ships. The mod is still actively supported today to. Killerfish Games is supposed to be releasing a new naval sim game some point next year to. Sounds like it's gonna be real cool if Cold Waters is anything to go on.

I've said for a very long time, War Gaming does not use a Match Maker, this is a misnomer, in fact it is secretly known as the Money Maker, oh, by the way, I've been on a 14 month winning streak and am considering reloading the game.

Considering that I've already heard that the Commander Skill Rework is being dropped without, as far as I've heard' zero testing and critique by the supertesters or anyone in the playerbase, it might be a good time to jump ship while land is still visible.
Adding Plymouth is a good show of what is coming -> hey, iChase, what do you thing about that ship with smoke, hydro, torps, heal AND radar in the first plase? :D

I know how much of a hassle being a teacher is from firsthand experience and observation, so please do what you need to do.
The best way to deal with these "rigged" events is totally in our (the players) hands. Just don't buy them.

What has changed is WG removed the statement that semi-accurately explained how the crates work but left in a statement that was misleading at best and could be argued was outright fraud. Also making the Makarov the main short list ship was a truly scummy move.

To be fair, since the Puerto Rice dumpster fire, at least a handful of people in WG have been trying to win back the player base. They'd published details and mad it clear what purchasing was required for the Dockyards.
The problem is when the people who have dollar-signs for eyes undo ALL of that in one go by flat out lying and they need to be sacked.
The depressing bit is that I do (mostly) still enjoy the game itself and the clan I'm in is a fun group of people which helps the enjoyment. I want the game to exist, it's juts who ever seems intent on sabotaging the long term health for quick buck *sigh*.
Truth. Warships is basically a port model viewer for me now as well.

There is a difference between a screw up and a deliberate scam. And what makes it even worse is that the chance to win ANY ship was very small to begin with. So why force the odds to a few shitty ones that no one wants? Because they are shitty.

My friend bought 20 mega box ( told him don't go crazy on spending but...) he got like 18 box of camo/flags, and the ship he got was Makarov and Crappy Kream (joke). He said he should have spent the money to buy a T8/T9 ships instead...

I remember walking away from WOT Blitz 5 years ago after years of investment.
I came to WOW thinking the design team was different and the mentality would be different.
The only thing that WG is sorry about, on the satan crate fiasco, is that they got caught. They haven’t admitted the scam, nor changed the wording on the advertising - still the same, disingenuous enticement to gift them money. That’s not customer service, that’s simple exploitation. Not unique in the business world, granted, but it’s important that long term customers of WG realise that their business approach has changed from growth mode to cash generation mode.
The only way to win is.... Not to play...
I was already at this point regarding WG and this game since somewhere between 12 to 18 months ago.
i mostly still play the game only for the in game models, as its the only interesting content left that wont try to reach into your pocket

Understand, WoW is wargaming's IP. It belongs to them. When they do something you dont like your options are to keep playing or walk away. Its a bit frustrating when you have a lot of time invested then they do something to just trash it. I felt the same way with star wars, but ultimately their investment is larger then yours or mine. c'est la vie
Personally I never spend money to play a game. Any game. I just go in and play. I play a lot and get killed a lot. But it's just a game. I don't feel the need to have the latest and greatest.

When I first saw the spreadsheet about the captain skill rework I was like: why? *sad noises* then didn't look at it for another week and then was like "WTF WHY, JUST WHY?" Buffs to CVs which they don't need traded for stupid perks for cruisers (yes, Hinden with 6km torpedoes needs torp skills...hahhaha) and BBs, we don't need any more HE skills for BBs, like how amazingly high on methadone you have to be to come up with those stupid skills? And on top of that all those "IF...THEN...OR...NOT" skills are completely dumb as well. In german there's a word "Verschlimmbessern" which actually means that you completely f something up you originally wanted to improve. That's pretty much WG in a nutshell.

Uninstaled WOWS during the pay 2 Rico dumpsterfire, but it's sad because I bought a gaming PC specifically to play wows open beta test.
Watching WG kill the very first PC game I ever got is sad.
Unfortunately that's what they are doing, they are milking the the playerbase dry before the game dies off, rather than try and fix the things that are killing the game, which are entirely wargamings fault and would be fixable if they actually gave a shit.
I only have 2 complains: CVs and the MM that is not based on player's skills. All the rest is avoidable. I think you guys are too much drama queens. Who forced you to buy or participate to the PR campaign. If you don't like it, just don't participate to the campaign. I only grab flags and other easy to get from that campaign and I'm fine.

I'm done contributing to a game that wargaming doesn't even pretend to care about, and that includes premium time, and being a player to add to the MM queue.

@@SPIRIT-117 You are absolutely entitled to your opinion of the WG or the game. However, all the bad things that you have a hate for do not really impact the game play besides WG unwillingness to have a skill based MM and by adding CVs to a game that does not need it (and maybe the sub some time in the future). Nobody works for free, especially from a for profit organization. I believe any "free to play" game lives or survive by having insidious tricks to push players to spend money. I prefer to pay up front like with the triple A game business model. But even with triple A games where you pay upfront for the game, not everything is free. You still need to pay for things more or less needed for the game or for updates.
@@VuHien2011 there is a difference between "working for free" and "ripping off/screwing over your playerbase". The first few years of this game went pretty well, and I didn't have much complaints about paying for premium, a few premium ships, etc etc.
The loot boxes have been a disaster, Pay2Rico was a disaster (that was only revealed after they got a bunch of CCs to say how awesome it was) and on top of these the actual gameplay is in shambles due to shit that WG shoves down everyone's throats like CVs or whatever the new flavor of the month HE spamming premium is.
Oh and we have tier 10 premiums now, despite years of WG saying that wouldn't happen.
The playerbase is smaller than ever. CCs are taking breaks or outright abandoning ship. This game is dying and it's WG thats killing it. If WG gave even one shit about the state of the game, this video we are commenting on wouldn't even have been made.

It might allows noobs to access tier 10 but frankly, with the speed you can get a Tier 10 ship nowadays, it does not make a difference. There is still a significant percentage (at least 30% of players reaching T10 ) that are still clueless. I'm interested to know what the percentage is of players who bought an ARP yamato without even reaching their very first T10 ship. The bad ARP yamato player has equal chance to be on my side or on the enemy side. Globally, it is a zero sum for me. It would not be a problem if WG has a skilled based MM that would put a noob player in front of the noob ARP Yamato player. I think I'm only pissed when the changes affect my game play even when I cannot opt out of an event. Regarding CC, they come and go. In 2020, I found a handful that I subscribed including Potato Quality, Iolaire, Destroyer Kuroshiokai, Carbine Carlito. Potato Quality from the O7 clan only started youtube video last August.

LOL same here. Except I stop playing 2 years ago but my stat also gone up. My New Orleans literally went up by 15k dmg now lol.

Blatant cash grab, CV's are even more broken now then they were in RTS, WG released a fucking TX Yamato and it's legendary module for like almost 200 USD, more HE spam, ships get power crept much faster then before, the Santa containers were rigged for you to get meh/shit ships before you get the good shit. ... It's been a shit show the past year. Glad I stopped playing a year and a half ago.
They led people to believe the ships in Santa containers had an equal chance of dropping by leaving out the fact that you can only get a shortlist of a couple of bad ships. Only after you've gotten a ship in that shortlist, do you have a non-zero chance of getting ships not on the shortlist. Even then to get access to the rest of the ships, you have to roll the shortlisted ships you already have. Because you already have the shortlisted ship, the game will reroll and give you a super container that will give you non-shortlisted ships.
Their excuse for leaving out that crucial detail is that the details are excessive and they already explained it before 2018.
This is an issue in WarThunder lately too. They could be great games. If they weren't scams created only to farm fools.

War thunder has made more strides then wows
I think if subs make it into randoms that will be the last straw for me. This was the first PC game I fell in love with as a kid, really sad to see it go in such a direction that I don’t even recommend it to my friends anymore.

Yeah no, I as of late completely lost all motivation to keep playing this game, for once I don't like how they handle the game and the constant drama that revolves around it and second, I like to engulf myself In books and/or games that create complex fantasy worlds for one to explore and dive into since I started doing that my stress with college has somewhat worn off a bit.
After assignments, tests, schoolwork, you want less drama and more chillaxing. Then you go on WoWS and it's a dumpster fire and that's enough for me to nope outta there

Plus Cyberpunk is a full game for the same cost as a bunch of RNG containers
So glad I quit the game two years ago. Realized I was spending way too much money on those damn loot crates and getting crap in return. I do still enjoy watching WoW content creators though. Still entertaining to watch!
So very true, this game is done, I for one will not spend any more money on this company. They have pooched it beyond saving. I have been out of the game for a month and am really happy to be. My question is why does everyone just fight for the 9-10 line on this map as a bb I always go to the mid on this one and it pays off quite well
Depends on the situation, I couldn't go mid at the start due to enemy team having DD in mid but my team not having a DD. When my DD did show up...kinda got rekt lol. Better to push up the side where there is no DD contest. Also pushing up mid at the start leads to getting crossfired to death, not a great idea

I might play once a week or a couple times a month. Closed Beta start, but not a whole lot of time to play, so I am mediocre most days. The game is not much fun anymore, I am seriously thinking about throwing in the towel and uninstalling. That would stink as I have quite a bit of money invested, but man... not sure if they can turn this around even if WG realizes the situation.

It's sad to see some of the best CZcamsrs/CCs taje a break from the game..WG should pay attention to this! If the CCs don't enjoy the game anymore, they should quickly do something about it, because they are loosing the earlier entusiasts too.. And that's bad for the game.
