I work in a legal capacity involving these unaccompanied minors and can tell you the situation has become 1,000 times worse in the last several years. The number of UAC’s coming over are monumental and overwhelming. This country encourages minors to come with incentives, like being able to get a green card quickly through SIJS and TVPRA. Secondly, HHS and ORR have been given a time limit of 20 days to find a sponsor for the child which means vetting practices are almost nonexistent, because of LAWS our government created. We have enabled the smugglers and traffickers to use these children in their multi billion dollar business. Stop encouraging them to come, and remove the limited ability to properly vet sponsors, and those are just the first things we should do to help these kids.
And it's our politicians who entice them to come.

If what she said is true, and I see no reason not to believe her, then this was happening during Trump's presidency and he did nothing about it. I’ve heard that CNN is one of the news media outlets that is discouraging people people from seeing the movie; haven’t found that review yet, so can’t verify. My hope is that the movie has come out at a crucial time and will inspire people to become involved. We know the political parties are going to be blaming each other, but efforts should be focused on ending the abomination of sex trafficking.
Good people who have seen the movie are now much more aware and the hope is that they put that awareness into action at all levels, from noticing potential trafficking in their daily lives to contributing to organizations fighting this, to researching the prior history of our incumbent politicians to check their actions related to this issue before the movie came out.
