What are good ways to decern a Snowy grouper from a Warsaw grouper? Especially, the juveniles.
    I'm very confused.
I've read that the Snowy grouper is the only grouper to have 10 spines in its dorsal fin, and all others have 9 or 11.
I've also read Snowy grouper have 11 spines in their dorsal fin.
I've read Warsaw grouper have 10 spines in their dorsal fin and seen Captains of commercial fishing vessels call a grouper with 9 spines in their dorsal fin a Warsaw.
