- Bauge is nearly knocked to the ground when Sireau knocks him and crashes to the deck hitting Bauge's rear wheel. Bauge manages to recover and pedal past the finish, and went on to capture the gold, beating out Awang of Malaysia in a tight race.
Great handling skills by Gregory Bourge. Superb handling skills.
"That's definitely going to be a CZcams clip that one."
Need for Speed: Bicycle Drift
Just to clear it up, pro's on the track will usually use standard clipless pedals with cleats, most of the time with overshoes for aero reasons. However, because of the massive power some of these sprinters put out they often wear clipless pedals and cleats, overshoes, and then toe clips with straps to stop them ripping their feet out of the pedals mid sprint.
why does his back wheel keep spinning? I thought they where fixed
@@demonseedlongboarder he didn’t stop completely
@@demonseedlongboarder the chain snapped
The only time I've experienced anything near this kind of recovery from what should have been a certain crash was when I was in a fairly slow corner and slipped on a patch of ice, my wheels lost traction and my bike instantly slid out from under me. Before I hit the cold hard ground the ice patch ended, both tires grabbed the road simultaneously and I happened to have just the right amount of momentum to bring me upright again. With a big wobble I managed to stay on the bike and continue on my way. It was a bit undignified and way more luck than skill but I was happy to freakishly escape a wipeout
Skidding like a boss!!
0:18 Bauge goes to pump a fist in victory, but stops because that's not how he wanted to win. Bauge is a classy man.
Beautifully put
"Bauge was incredibly luck--skillful"
It is, thankyou for acknowledging :D
replayed it a dozen times, laughed hysterically each time
wow that is wonderful
unbelievable Bauge!
crazy recover
great reflexes
AWESOME
"..he should be doing Moto GP..." HAHAHAHAHA
Matt Stephens???
@staterbay
That makes more sense..thanks
''OOH WOW AAAHH'' LOOOOOOOOL YOU LEGEND!!!!!!!
Good work
Spool of you pedal backwards does it lock everything up? Cause that's a neat way to stop in a hurry.
Do you see the size of those quadriceps?
amazing
"That's definitely gonna be a youtube clip on that one" Yep. Definitely.
Nice glue job salute to the mechanic
Look at the path of the guy on the outside, it stays consistent. Inside guy caused his own crash and had better say sorry to the guy that he tried to wipe out.
He didn't try to wipe him out you moron, you can tell he wasn't paying attention, he was looking down.
Areyouduckingserious I think you should read my comment more carefully... ps. there are 4 ups for it you moron.
"Cause his own crash and head better say sorry to the guy that he tried to wipe out." Yeah, I read it right the first time.
+Foufou Vlogs yea he did. He tried to elbow him you moron
+curtyuiop you're a damn fool bye loser
Indeed! Guy almost broke his legs.
this dude did UNBELIEVABLE, can't even speak!!
Bauge just did a whip skid!!!!
@organicmuch part of it is because the gearing really is that massive and another part is probably just from the cameras.
That skill is really amazing.
カッコよすぎるぜgod damn it
he saved it because he smiled :D
Did they glue on the tire right?
Skidding on tubular Mavic Comte NBD… Also track racers run something in the neighborhood of 60x12.
I know, its epic!
How do they brake normally ?
i thought fixed meant the back wheel always moves with the pedals? how is the back wheel still moved once his legs locked the pedals during the slide? 0:41
do they wear normal shoes for track cycling ?
no i wear clipless pedals , they dont have straps they have triangle things on the bottom of the shoes called cleats which clip to the pedal ,
totally amazing bike handling!! chapeau
ace!!! god like!!
yep
totally!
Yes, that is the case.
this is freaking amazing!
God I felt that
@armagedonas32 The bikes only have one gear, and it's really high, so they need to have huge quads to be able to start
I can't tell; did he crash because the front tub came off or did the tub come off becuase of the crash?
That was....phenomenal!
Damn, nasty fall, glad he was ok. Impressive save from the other guy, great recovery.
Soo since he crashed, can i have his mavic disc and io?
Wait, shouldn't the tire not come off the wheel when you crash?
I'd fire the dude that glued his tubuluars. He rolled that tire way too easily.
Those tubulars arent like the tubulars you can but at the store, they are never ment to roll
I do not think there is any glue. If was glued maybe will was better.
Probably the same guy that glued Bauge’s, his seemed ok ;)
They both probably have the same mechanic tho
what is this sport called
@suharinos I was under the impression that Kevlar was very heavy for some reason. Just saw that it's not, according to Google.
Pay no attention to my ignorance, lol
@NbaRapLover I used to have track ratio, skidding and going up hills a pain in the ass. LOl.
Is the bike okay?
SKILL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
@propyro85 ouch that must really smart. I've only fallen on gravel or road but that must BURN!
Amazing recovery!!
skillful that
"LOOK" !! i fell down !!!
우리의 룩이 떠났습니다...
how come they dont use clipless pedals?
epic drifting
Why do track racers use clips instead of clipless?
He might be referring to the size of the gear, they do push massive gears on track only bikes no?
@organicmuch Yes.
"That's gonna be a CZcams clip."
0:44 "ohhh!"
@JueputaGuebon
Its for safety reasons. These guys put a LOT of torque on the pedals INCLUDING the upstroke. A clipless-pedal system wouldn't withstand such a sprint.
He skid so hard his suit just burned off!? Holy shit.
@fergcyclesuk Definitely not. He stayed outside of the sprinter's lane, which is his duty in that situation. If you go over the video at 1:37-1:38, you can clearly see Sireau's front wheel exit the lane, he hits Bauge and loses control, and then smacks him again as he falls.
Just a racing incident, but it's all Sireau.
power
team work
Ouchie!!
that blew my mind. unbelievable skill
i heard about a video where some cyclists rear wheel broke into pieces in track like this. any info about?
Achievment unlocked: Last man standing
aren’t they same team?
@122chucknorris Yeah but when your going that fast and at that angle that tire will slide right off. I dont think it was because the tubular wasent glued on correctly which is usually the case when you see them fall off
the question is can you do a skid at close to 70 KPM?
It looked like a fixie skid!
I can't believe that tire stayed put.
WoW!!
@simflyer97 They run tubes that glue into the rim and no tire.
That would be the easiest way to explain them.
2:00 Oh, man. Look at his hip. OW.
The guy try to nudge the winner but lost it and went down, serves him right..:)
can you race pro track?
can i have the mavic doe?
The guy that made the recovery has massive
fuckin legs. god damn!!!
Example of tubuliors coming apart right there, just look at that tyre come off that rim! :o
that is what a whip skid is
@Bistocracy You mean the entire country is on ONE Bike? That would be new!
Hugh skid from Bauge, he has good reflexes.
done it, broke my wrist, collarbone and got a concussion. was going like 38
อยากได้ล้อดิสที่เค้านำมาเเข่ง.น่าจะทนน่าดู
what the hell how fast are they going?
마빅이ㅠㅠ....
