This is SO crazy helpful, thank you!!! I play controller on PC and the extra buttons for each card vs draw/select/play in the previous iteration was driving me nuts.

I main healer and that seemed a little excessive.
Spire/Ewer and Arrow/Bole always go on tanks.
Balance/Spear DPS and ranged respectively.
I do have several macros for Astro but they’re usually combining two abilities to make a strong single ability. Some examples are swiftcast ascend, auto detonate Earthly Star, Horoscope Helios and divination oracle.
I never go past 2 cross bars. I am always able to alternate sets with R1. So I essentially get to play by muscle memory and not looking at the keys or timers for most gcd/ogcd
Arrow card u can give to healer to boost their healing skill
I have the wxhb set up a bit but I actually just did a priority list from melee descending and range afterward ascending so basically the melee macro is target 3 and range if you wanted to ether do a target 8/4 macro(s)or just hit the up button and soft target them, I only want to figure out for 8 man content for the support cards how I can easily target the players maybe 4-7 if I focus target player 3 and have a macro for focus target and do target macros for 4-7, 8 I would hit up button for
Arrow/bole or play 2 tank and healer only and play 3 I could make a macro players 4-7. I don’t want to use u that many macro slots like this guy has in video because I have/will have my jobs at or will be at max they are all 90 now including the non battle jobs
@newdecca Thanks for the feedback! I agree that a lot of extra can be cut out, for example, any play 2/play 3 in the opener, and exaltation. I do mention in video and on infographic these are optional! IT really boils down to A. Play divination on same GCD as your party (2 or 3) and B. Weave both play I cards, lord of crowns, and oracle in! Feel free to cut out the fluff, just wanted to include it as an example that if needed you can weave whatever you like in there! Cheers.
@AquaMusica305 that's a nice setup you have! I agree that this macro setup takes quite a bit and is not friendly towards multiclassing. I primarily play Ast so im not switching up my crossbars very often!

Someone had an issue they couldnt get back to their main crossbar, but i think they may have deleted their comment, if anyone else has trouble here is the following explanation: So you never actually go back to your AST hotbar, you are always on one of the conjurer hotbars 1-4. If you have made sure your cross hotbars 1-4 are unshared as shown in settings, I think you may be missing the step to copy how you want your main hotbar to look over to cnj 1 at timestamp 8:20. Set up how you want your main hotbar to look and type /chotbar copy ast 1 cnj 1. This copies how you want your main hotbar to look over to cnj 1. Then on your macro player buttons 1-8, the macro command /chotbat copy cnj 1 to ast 1 brings you back to however you saved the main crossbar. Does that make sense? Its alot to type out haha but if this video is to confusing I can make another video explaining each of the commands and maybe i can draw a diagram to make it easier, let me know if that would help. It is alot to wrap your head around. Make sure you dont test the macro before finishing!
Yeah I'm a little confused. I got the macros to work but my hotbar disappeared. If I'm understanding correctly I need to have my hotbar set up first. Then do the chat command then I'm set? Is that correct? Then if I make any changes in the future I have to do the chat command again?
@@sneakybigbear6826 Right! so when you have macros set up and you are ready for the step to start saving your hotbar layouts, what you are doing is actually saving each hotbar layout to CNJ Hotbars 1, 2, 3, and 4. And what the macro buttons actually do (aside from playing the card on party member) is copy what you have saved on the CNJ hotbars, over to your AST 1 hotbar (which is default). If you are on AST 2 or AST 3 hotbar it will seem like it disappeared because the macro specifically copies the layout of each CNJ Hotbar to your AST 1 hotbar (RB + Triangle i believe).
@@sneakybigbear6826 to provide an example to my first response, walking through the macro: You click yellow play 1, which copies CNJ 2 hotbar (you saved in setup) to AST 1 so that you are now seeing the players 1-8 that was set up from the first column. Then when you press one of the party 1-8 buttons it will copy the CNJ 1 hotbar back to AST 1 so that the CNJ 1 is your main hotbar again. That is why every time you want to switch up skill location on your main hotbar you need to make sure you copy it to CNJ 1 by the command /chotbar copy AST 1 CNJ 1 because every time you hit the command it will revert back to whatever was originally saved in CNJ 1. So it is really key to set up your hotbar how you like it to look in normal situations and copy it to CNJ 1 with that command. It is a pretty loopy macro I'll admit haha. Let me know if you still cant get it to work, I will have to work on a diagram to post here because you aren't alone in being confused.
Ok this is it, I figured it out and this literally covers most situations minus a few.
Make your role list Healer Damage Tank for the Healer role at the minimum. You make a focus target macro for play 1-3, u have the normal play spells 1 that u can easily hit ur sled, 2nd healer and the tank and the very bottom of the list in the cases of all range or all melee.
You have a macro for play 1 on target 3 only because in 4 man content ur 1st dps will be on the 2nd spot, and your 8man content will be target 3 (keeping in mind job priority list melee desending then after range ascending) range will be target 3 macro and target 6 macro.
1 play actual spell hits targets 1,2,8, play 1 macro targets 3 and 6.
1 play 2 actual spell and one focus target play 2 spell
One play 3 spell and 1 focus target 3 spell. U literally only need the focus target ones for 8 man content unless u wanna focus target the 3rd spot in 4 man content. I’m sorry that a lot I wrote I wanna make a document with a simpler explanation to show people
I was sitting here scratching my head for ages, redoing the macros, wondering why my hotbars wouldn't switch.. I just realised.. every single one of my macros said "/choatbar" 😭

I'm having an issue, I've redone the video step by step twice, the first time when I go to cast my macros, it would switch from gold icons to grey, I'd choose 1 for me, and then it would just go back to the regular hotbar without casting. Except it's cleared the entire hotbar except the gold icons. The second time it just wiped my entire hotbar. Not sure what's happening.
Edit: figured out, I didn't put spaces in "play I" for them all

@TheShepasaurus happened again, then I realized it's bc it's pulling the copied hotbar that only had the gold 1,2,3 icons on, with none of my other skills. After I redid it with all my skills it worked beautifully! You're a beast!
@Gh0styS0x oh man! Im glad you figured that out. Someone had a similar problem where they couldn't get back to their main crossbar, and I think it was the same issue, but they deleted their comment. I replied anyway in a comment below and a conversation with sneakybigbear6826! If anyone else sees this and is having similar issues, check out my responses in that comment! I done it exactly as shown but the marco wont activate id made sure to type it exactly not sure what the problem is
Hmmm, so just to double check, youve gone through the steps to copy the 4 sets of hotbars to cnj 1-4 after creating your macros?

It can be made to work for mouse and keyboard! If you are using Cross Hotbar with mouse and keyboard the macro shouldn't have to change. However if you are using a normal hotbar, note that /chotbar is for "Cross Hotbar" so you will want to change all that to /hotbar if you are using normal hotbars! I know a lot of PC Astro's use a mouse over macro instead, that is beyond my knowledge base as I play primarily on PS5.
For anyone getting annoyed with how long it takes to change the numbers in all the macros, just do what I did.. use chat GPT! I'd just say "change the 2s to 3s in this list" and then "now change the 3s to 4s" etc. Thank you technology.
