Forget this method. Just place the playhead where you want to cut and press Ctrl + K on Windows or Cmd + K on Mac to split the clip. Adope call it Add Edit...

Life saver, thanks.
This is the most precise way to do it! Thanks!
i came here for 1:53 how to un-split the cuts i made accidentally. Thank you so much. A lot of people covered the 'split clips in adobe premiere' videos on you tube but very few or none mentioned how to undo it. Dayum this guy is thorough.
video starts at 00:43
Cheers!

Thanks Douglas! That's really kind of you to say! 😄🙏
Great! I was watching other videos, but they jump and tell the steps after using razor. This three minutes video first time showed me from the start.
Learning so much from you
Thanks for all you do
regards, Rick
Cheers! Thanks so much Rick!
This was perfect! Thanks. Definitely subscribing.
Very helpful. Is there a way to fill space automatically like in final cut pro X? I don't like that I have to manually drag everything :/ Thanks
Like every Adobe tutorial, it’s always helpful.
Glad you think so! 😄
Awesome! Thank you for sharing.
Thanks! How do I save the segments as separate files?
Is there a setting that stops clips from cutting into other clips when you move them around?
Great video! thanks a lot

Thank yooooooooou!
You're welcome! Any time!
is there no button to split where you currently are on the video like in vegas?
Ctrl + K / Cmd + K
thank you
You're welcome!
this is honestly the most helpfull and straight forward video for this software thank you
The fact that a tutorial is needed to know how to split videos in premiere makes me miss sony vegas where literally just clicking on the slip and pressing S splits the clip at the playhead, and at anytime you can reuinite the clips just by selecting both, right clicking and joining them together.
Exactly proof that this Editor is a pain in the ass to use. Ill try vegas cause honestly it seems like its for more my speed if anything.
nice video
Thanks!
I like your smile 😅😅👏
Thank you so much! That's very kind of you!
Cool
Thanks!
So it’s C? What is Ctrl K ?
Ctrl K splits the clip wherever your playhead is at without having to click. also, Ctrl + Shift + K splits the whole timeline wherever your playhead is currently at
After Splitting the video into two or so... I want to save the file individually (E.g two music session in one video and i want to split them and save for the respective artist)... How can i do that ??
I really wish I could just use shortcuts, it was a lot easier. Adobe seems to be obsessed with removing and changing things just to mess with people.
I thought you were going to show a split COMMAND -- without using the razor blade tool
this good but why on me not working :(
What exactly is giving you trouble in specific?

bro i couldnt figure this out because my -1 iq brain... thx
in the real world nobody would cut this way because u wont which part to the movie you are cutting
Say Cheese!
Cheese!
i want to split the video and saves the parts, this toturial is for using slice tool,.....wasting my time!!!
bro, you dragged the video too long, you can teach the same thing within a minute, please be precise, we have a short attention span, btw great video. Thank you so much
why is this 3 minutes...
The fact that you need a video to show you how to do the most basic and necessary tool in video editing just goes to show how poorly designed the program is.
'Oh, we're a pro video editing tool, only pros use us! So let's hide the split button'. Wtf? About to delete this shit. Thanks for the video though.
Crtl + K
No need to watch the video
too much talk. get to the point already
So what the heck is the "split tool" actually used for? I was wasting a bunch of time trying to figure it out when I was really looking for the razer tool... Adobe is such an unintuitive joke.
Thank you!
You're welcome!
