This video made me realize one thing. There should be positional exercises, just like tactical ones; but involving pawn breaks, uneven positional trades and pawn attacks. Also, how do I distinguish between a pawn attack and a pawn "overextending"? It's the same with minority attacks, I really don't know why some times advancing a pawn is attacking and some other times it's just wasting moves

There are books on these subjects. Lots of general strategy books often cover the basics but there's also more specific books like Soltis's Pawn Structure (it covers pawn breaks), Your Kingdom For My Horse (on trades), etc.

But think Magnus s memorizing stuff maybe Fedor would lose ev on highrollers :D I feel stuck on 1900 elo on chess.com right now as well as I felt playing poker before I bought pokercode. Any ideas on how to improve in chess? I think some kind of pont structures would be nice to study. Now only what I do is the analysis of my games.
