  • Today I’m talking about my new Gold Tone OB-Grandee banjo! This banjo is a great instrument and I can’t wait to see how it sounds after a year of playing it on the road!

Great picking, it sounds great!! One day hopefully I can afford a half decent banjo. My cheapo no name stays in tune for about 5 mins, LOL
I really like that Grande. Think my fave Gold Tone is the Twanger. Also like the bowtie archtop OB2. Hoping to own an OB3 one day 🙂

Lovely sound 🪕 not too loud and not too soft, just the way I like my banjer to be.

Im curious how this stacks up, I have a TPF 1929 TB-3 with a Eric Sullivan conversion ring that's a wonderful banjo.. but ive always wanted a Granada. How do these GT's . hold up in tone/sound to a real one I wonder? Obviously they are new, not a bad thing.. My rk-36 sounds great for a new banjo. Just wondering how they sound.

Sounds great! Just out of curiosity...how much relief was in the neck when you received this banjo?

Not that much. It felt really good when I got it but I put some more relief in it once I messed with it for a while. Brought out some more volume when I did that. I didn’t adjust it much.

You're a great picker, but I'll keep my gibson. I also picked with Edger laudermilk years ago, when he would come down and jam with us at tallulah falls.
