I am 71 in Tennessee and I only get 20 dollars a month and I am disable and health problems
If they want to add money to snap how about adding hygiene products like bath soap, shampoo etc. That is also is part of the nutrition allotment.
They seem to want it for food and drinks.

Uh, what??? You’re wrong! SNAP is for food only. It’s not, and has never been, for personal hygiene and never will be.
Hi Everyone, just to clarify: the New Maximum Allotments will take effect in October.
✅If you receive the max benefits for 1 person, you will get a boost from $250 to $281
✅If you receive the minimum benefit for 1 person, you will get now $23.
✅If your state is still providing the emergency allotments, it is expected you will also get the new max benefits.

What about seniors on social security only getting $32 stamps? And what about the stamps for September 2022. No raise? I live in Georgia and myself and other seniors only get $32-37. Food stamps should be continously given. Much has been given to other countries. Oh, I get it. Americans don't count.

U should be getting Covid relief threw social security for $200-$230 end of each month call Dpss to add it to snap program $32 is what Dpss is giving u cause of your ssi u qualify for Covid relief program extra $200-237
I'm on ssdi and survivors and get $20/mo in Nevada and the pandemic added $230 and it's greatly appreciated

Thank you. I get 44 a month...it is not enough. So the emergency food from Nevada gives me +200 even with that yesterday I had a cup of rice. I'm a disabled senior and when the extra goes I don't know what I'm going to do. I am really frugal. I'm scared. I do go to the food bank. This is pretty new to me.

Thank you for up date. I'm just afraid of losing food stamps in January with Social security increase. I'm a disabled senior. I'm thankful for the maximum at this time in Wisconsin.

There are lots of us in that situation where the SS increase will actually cost us money starting in January. We can only hope the benefit income limits will also be raised accordingly.
The income limits will go up for snap/EBT on Oct. 1st in WI. The new limit number for single is $2226 and for (2) is $3052. All we can do now is hope SS doesn't go up too much. Hope this helps you out.
Unfortunately yes it's not going to matter what increases you get in EBT food stamps money come January when then increase your social security disability check EBT will automatically deduct it from your food stamps making the raise you get in October completely useless it's like taking 2 step's forward and 5 step's back with are government and EBT

I really hope that all states will be blessed with emergency snap benefits especially the states that don't seem to care about helping there people right now when the economy is worse now than we have seen it in many many years all states need help please

I am a senior on a fixed income on SSI, I applied for food stamps in October 2021 which I received 40.00 January we got our raise on SSI my stamps went down to 20.00. Sorry out government sucks for Seniors if your born and raised here in America

They need to revamp his they figure for seniors. They truly need the food but usually are the ones who get the least amount. They are hurt every year when social security gets increases. Its just not a fair program!!!!!!!!!!
overall the assistance for seniors is horrible, seniors should the ones benefiting the most in food ,housing etc...I been trying to find a place for my 70 yr old mom...can't find anything nothing she can afford..she needs to be working to be able to rent an affordable apt...I can't even be part of a lease..cause am not part of the household...i hate the fact that younger people are easily able to get free rent and all...how's that possible.....

Yes good news, but what happens when emergency allotments stop??? Why not keep max amounts for all especially seniors . Due to cola increase as always they decrease our fiod stamps. Not reasonable move, as we will be out of pocket when that happens !
I really hope so , but I don't expect much because I only get 20.00 & I'm on SSDI. My check is only 1200 a month. It's been really hard & I've had to cut back. So some months I really don't have much to eat.
