He's cheated death several times, can make his own rendition of pokemon moves, is immune to some attack types (like having his head be shot with Flamethrower and be fine) and other things I don't remember and even like "soul fuse" with pokemon like his Greninja or Lucario
You can just hear pikachu’s pain in his voice during that moment when ash is dissolving. Yes ash does always come back he is the main protagonist of the series they can’t really kill him off since he has been around for years
The only reason he came back is because, well people think it’s because his wish to Ho-Oh was to be a Pokemon Master so until he fulfills that, he can’t die
