Covacure Hammock First Time Use I NEARLY DIED

  • I decided to do a first time set of my new Covacure Hammock up Skinny Wood. In doing so, I nearly died.
I had watched plenty of CZcams vids of the Pro Hammock campers and I felt confident in going that route myself.
All was going really well too with this budget hammock for camping. Apart from judging the tree distances in the beginning.
A lapse in concentration and, probably not paying attention to my hammock entry, caused what could have been quite a catastrophic injury.
But call bad luck or good luck, either way, there was more good luck than I give credit for.
I was very lucky not to break my neck today (Sunday 21 March).
There is an outtake vid to follow this one. Looking back at it, I had tears of laughter. But looking back, it could easily have been tears of pain and sorrow.
Anyway, all is good this end. So sit back and watch another old crank getting out there and enjoying himself.

Great way to spend the night. Ideal if the camping location is boggy or uneven. You will soon get the hang of it, you always get a bit of stretching of the straps etc the 1st few times you use it. 👍

@@BourneOutside You will soon find what works for you personally. For me its straps on the trees at about head high and the hammock at about the height of my ribs (no weight in the hammock) It looks too high but when I get in and the straps etc stretch a bit, it sits about right (for me) If you ever need some help, dont be afraid to ask mate. 😎

@@frogmaster83 Aha, thank you for that snippet of advice there, JB. I might have had the straps higher than head height actually. Maybe not a good position.

Just ordered the same one but ordered a tarp to go with it lol I've never hammock camped before but when it arrives tomorrow I'll be using it straight away, luckily enough I live in the cotswolds so shouldn't be too hard to find a spec, happy camping bud 😊

      How did it go?
I hope you thought it was ok. The YT’er I went out with is hanging up his hammock boots and going back ground dwelling.

@@BourneOutside hey man thanks for getting back to me,I just got back myself. Decided to stay an extra night lol the hammock was awesome, I used a mat and slid all over the place the first night but luckily I took a second sleeping bag and swapped it for last night, had the best sleep ever even though it rained, the tarp I got was the same price as the hammock itself however it turned out to be a shrewd buy as it was big enough to have in a porch configuration or completely shield myself from the wind , maybe I'll look at underquilts for my next adventure but for now an extra bag helps massively 😀 no faults with the hammock at all ,I set it up first time in under 5 mins but tbf id already watched your video loo
