The original Skinheads in the 60's live in urban areas with Jamaican neighbors and they hang out together with their black friends and adopted the music later earned the name Skinhead Reggae. They adopted the Rudeboy Fashion by wearing their pants a bit shorter to show off their socks or boots. Skinhead Reggae is a brand of Reggae music from the 60's produce for the biggest fans, the Skinheads or English Reggae.

@hayesbigpoppa Hardcore skinheads are skinheads who mainly associate with hardcore instead of Oi!, ska, soul or other music genres associated with the skinhead subculture.Starting in the early 1980s, there were many skinheads in the New York hardcore scene, although Detroit, Chicago, Seattle and Boston also had strong scenes. Skinheads became prevalent towards the end of the first wave of hardcore, and this continued through the youth crew era of hardcore.

@convener777 in the modern day there are muslim skinheads in indonesia, middle class left wing skinheads in scandinavia, old british skinheads who love 2tone and punk rock, it basically covers the entire spectrum, in the usa they had a scene in new york called hardcore which embraced the skinhead style. the media version is a very tiny part of it

@convener777 the skinhead culture started in the uk in the 60's. it came from the mods and the early music connected was from jamaica, early reggae and soul, youth fashion developed from the teenagers of the 50's skinheads was at its height at the time of the fall of empire, the mass immigration into the uk. high unemployment and racial conflict, hence the skinheads became labelled by the press as the face of racism, this is what got exported,

@symond as this was pre internet it had very little connection to the uk origins of skinheads, but the fanzines of the era were connecting people across the atlantic, taking off in the early 90's after tha main skinhead era in the uk had passed

I heard all the skins in the UK had gone gay. My friends saw loads of them in London on a trip there. Their friends there told them not to dress down, don't even bring your boots. Most of them had gone casual.
I watched another vid on CZcams about skinheads and in it they said that skinheads started in the sixties and they didn't have anything to do with nazis. It then died out. Then in the 70s it started up again and it was hijacked by nazis.
In this vid everyone seemed cool and like they're a world of fun lol.
I'm not really into reggae music though. I'm a rocker lol

haha skinhead has no age restriction, many people in the uk discovered it at a young age. the music and culture get in your blood, and stays for life, people change as they grow older, no more violence and stupid behaviour perhaps. but in uk the culture has been with us since 1964 approx. so at the skinhead reunion, you will get different generations of skinhead attend, once a year
be the change you want to see. go out there and shave in your mates.

Hi. I understand, the music what you know is an antiracism thing. BUT in I think, in the biggest part of the world is the opposite many things (race culture -especial in Hungary, I came from Hungary: called gipsies-, political themes (fucking liberlism, communism....)... so it's a complicated thing, I think!
