We are back! It has been a rough few months around here and we apologize for being away for so long. This video explains everything that has been happening. I was in an accident with one of the horses (by no fault of their own) and needed to take some time to recover from a concussion. Doctors orders were to limit or avoid screen time so that has been why there has been no posts on any of our platforms. I want to say thank you to everyone that has sent emails, messages, etc. to check to see how we are. WE truly appreciate your support and prayers! AND...with all that bad that happened there is good news!
Before my accident, we were able to rescue another horse! Back a few months ago there was a group of Belgians that came into Bowie Texas Livestock and one mare was still there that did not get rescued. We ended up rescuing her the day before my accident and I wasn't able to get the announcement out. All the details on her rescue are included in this video.
All the other horses are doing well! We have changed up how we feed all the horses and that is also explained in this video.
We are glad to be back and can't wait to bring you more update videos!
As mentioned in this video, we needed to cover the costs of the new horse we rescued. With the accident, I was unable to post the details of the fundraiser. If you would like to help support the rescue to cover the cost of the supplies we needed, the fundraiser can be found at the below link.

No apologies needed Fletcher Farms are truly angels working with these kind souls!
So happy to have you back. Missed You.
Sorry for your loss.
RIP Charlie and Amelia.😢
Thank you
They could have donated the dead horses to Buzzards, who need nutrition to survive in the wild
Another name for concussion is Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) and they are no joke! I got one 15 years ago, when my car was T-boned by a bus. It’s very important to listen to your body! If you are tired, it’s important to rest/sleep! I know it’s hard to just stop when there is work to do, but it’s paramount to your recovery to listen to what your brain and body are telling you. Praying for your full recovery!
And, get this, you have to rest your brain after such an injury. It must be difficult!
Agree! That also happened to a friend of mine. She was hit by a truck while walking across the street! It's a miracle she's alive & yeah, it took at least a year for her to recover.
OMGOSH😢 everyone w/a TBI, I'm so sorry. I had a small concussion when I was a teen, they called it a "meer' concussion. I experienced some dizziness, lightheadedness, nauseous, sleepy, fatigued & I was scared. That was one heck of a wack to Ur head to be knocked out, very scarey. Thank God for cell phones & that U weren't all alone at the time Julie. I know U will keep Ur distance from now on when Ur close by Ur animals, including being near the goats too 🐐🐐 Love Ur farm & all Ur animals & I still think of Lucky from time to time. He sure was a special horse & he sure loved U Julie. I'm real happy about that. I'm keeping Ur farm, all Ur animals & all of U folks in my daily prayers & thank U so much for showing us the beautiful videos ❤ God Bless 🙌 U All Forevermore 🙏🤲 🕊✝️😇❤🐎🐴💙
You felt you need to say that. Why? I believe she has been told every thing by her doctors!!! This is about Julie not you
@@tiggragg2749 Understand that U seriously need to get some courtesy for Urself. Shame on U.!
Have retired horses is a mixed blessing. You improve their lives dramatically to see them have the happiest ending possible. God bless and stay well.
Thank you!
BITTERSWEET.
It’s a joy and a relief to have you back! To have weathered grief on top of a head injury is an enormous accomplishment. As the adopter of an 11 pound dog with traumatic behavior issues, I just can’t say how much I admire you for taking on a gigantic behaviorally affected Belgian like Ava. You all are truly heroes
times 10 !
Was in tears watching your accident and hearing about your health the past few months. Rest up and don’t push yourself too hard ~ your body needs a lot of time to recover. So happy to have you back and have the update on these precious horses. I’m so sorry about your two losses ~ Charlie and Amelia were so blessed to spend their time on the farm with you. You are a blessing to all the animals you have rescued. Blessings and prayers.
Thank you!
I’m so happy to see you are back. So sorry about your accident and I hope you will be better soon. Take it as easy as you can. I hope you will get some volunteers in to help out.
Also sorry about the two losses. So sad. 😢 I hope Eva will fit in soon and that you’re able to have her eyes taken care of.
I would like to mail a small donation is there an address that I can use. God bless you for what you are doing. Xoxo. Lois
❤❤❤❤😊😊😊😊
No apologies needed things happen.
Great to see you back, get well soon. My sympathies for Charlie and Amelia 😢❤

So sorry for the loss of your beautiful horses. Charlie was so such a character. You take care Julie ❤️🐴🐴
Thank you!
So sorry for your heartache with the loss of the sweet horses. I’m glad you’re on the way to recovery!
Thank you so much!
Thank God you are doing better Julie🙏. Missed all of your Herd. So sad about Charlie and Amelia🥲. Thank You for giving them Such a beautiful Retirement and the Love these Amazing Animals deserve.
We missed you very much, thank God everything is ok now, God bless you and everybody who works and helps there, and God bless all the animals.
Charlie and Amelia were like family I am sure. And their loss I am quite sure was very emotional. How could it not have been? You are doing God‘s work. The horses are in there forever homes. Take care of you.
Thank you!
I have been worried that a fire or tornado took your farm out. Lots of prayers. So glad to hear from you. Love the donks. Love Charlie. Was sure some horses died. They all look great. Glad you found a better feeding plan. Will keep praying for you all. ❤
Missed you. Thankful for your recovery.
Thank you!
We have missed you, Julie Fletcher!! We love you!!
So glad you are okay and glad to see you back! So sorry about Charlie and Amelia, but you gave them happy last days and that's what matters!
Thank you!
Very happy to see you back!
Thank you!
While I too am heartbroken over the passing of Charlie & Amelia, I am at a loss to think of a nicer way to leave this earth than to lie down in a place where you feel loved & peaceful and drift off. You & Corey provide such a place to all of your animals. Thank you for that! I'm glad you're pursuing patreon funding or anything where we can do an automatic monthly deposit to help the farm. And I'm grateful you are doing better, but brain injuries can't be rushed - so please be kind to yourself : not sure how many emergency calls Corey can tolerate! So welcome back FFA be you 2 or 4 legged. I, and many others missed you and are relieved to see you all again.
RIP Charlie and Amelia. They will truly be missed, but never forgotten. I'm so very sorry for your loss. I'm glad you are back. Please take care of yourself Julie and feel better soon. God bless you both. 😭😭❤❤
Thank you!
I'm so sorry about your accident. I hope you're feeling better. Please take care of yourself. It's good to see you !!…❤🐎
Nice to see you up and around again. Please look after yourself
Thank you, I will
I am so sorry for the loss of two of your draft horses. I hope your health is feeling better and I hope all the horses and donkeys at the shelter are doing good.❤
Julie I’m so glad you are on the mend, such a frightening thing to go through 🙏 Rest peacefully Charlie and Amelia 🐴🐴❤️
Good to see you back. Such a freak accident can take time to heal from. Your love for your horses is clear to see. They are very lucky to have found you and your farm, where they can enjoy their retirement and just be horses. Beautiful. 🥰
Thank you!
Sorry to hear that you lost two precious horses Julie, and your accident too, great to see you have recovered and back creating videos again, all of the horses and donkeys are looking absolutely amazing, you’re all doing such a wonderful job rescuing, loving and caring for them all, tfs x Julie 🇬🇧
Thank you!
Wishing you a total recovery soon. We are here whenever you feel like posting videos again. Sorry for your losses.
So glad to see you back, keep looking after yourself please! I'm so sorry about Charlie and Amelia but so grateful they had a chance to be in such a loving, happy environment in their last years.
I'm a retired psychologist who worked with folks who had TBI. Please take care of yourself and try very hard not to injure your brain again. Brain injuries are cumulative.
I'm so sorry to hear about Charlie and Amelia. May they RIP. You made their final months as wonderful as possible. Sending hugs.
Glad to see you back on CZcams. Sending prayers that you recover, from your injury, completely soon
Beautiful, beautiful horses that have their best life and retirement❤
🙏💖🙏💖🙏💖 The horses look amazingly healthy and their coats absolutely shine like the sun. Violet is adorable! 🙏💖🙏💖
So sorry for your loss of Charlie n Amelia 🌈
I am so glad you are doing better n are back take care ❤
Please take care of yourself around the horses and donkeys for that matter. They might be old but are massive, you on the other hand are tiny. They would never mean to hurt you but, as you found out, accidents happen in the blink of an eye. You still need to take it easy though. 💔 to hear about Charlie and Amelia, both darlings. I hope the new girl relaxes soon and realise she home with good people. Blessings 🐎🙏
Oh my goodness dear girl. I'm so grateful that you are recovering after such a shock and bereavement over the losses of Charlie and Amelia. There was an obvious hole in my life when I didn't see youand your uploads for so long. Many prayers coming your way. Thank you for posting all the stuff. Now it's onward nd upward. God bless.
Im so happy you are back! Please take as much time as you need to heal. I think those donkeys are protecting you. Thanks for this video. Sending love....
Glad you are back for updates. So sorry about your mishap and for the losses. I am really impressed by how wonderful Grace and Will are looking. Happy to know that your new feeding program is working out so well for everyone.
That new mare is stunning. Welcome back and thank you for all you do!
So glad you are better and glad you came through it fine thank you for updating us all on everything that's going on and God bless you honey
Thank you so much!
😢 so sorry for the loss of your loved horses. Please take care of yourself. You are a gift to your animals.
So great to see you back! I’m so sorry for the loss of Charlie and Amelia. Thankful you weren’t injured more severely and on the road to recovery. Take care of yourself. Sending prayers.
Thank you!
Sorry for your loss. Take all the time you need we all can wait. A concussion is something you need to be careful of. Take care and we will wait.
So Happy you are ok... Praise the Lord...
I'm sorry this happened to you, you have my prayers up for God not to tarry in your healing! And condolences on your loss of your fur babies! 🙏
Thank you!
So pleased you are back Julie and you are doing well - Charlie was my very favourite boy - there will always be sad days and loss because you rescue these beautiful retirees and they are mostly in their last few years of life - thank you for giving them happiness and peace.🙏💕🐴❤️🇦🇺
Julie. I’m so sorry to hear of your accident and the loss of your beloved Belgian drafts.
Please take care of yourself so you can continue with your incredible mission. Be well.
So sorry about your accident! We were all worried something (bad) had happened to you or the farm etc. because there was NO news anywhere. We are glad you are on the mend. God Bless!
So glad you are recovering and for the update of all the horses. Take care.
I'm so sorry to hear about Charlie and Amelia. The down side of rescuing the Seniors is you don't get as much time with them, but the time you had was quite possibly the best of their lives. Those Donks love the heck-all out of you! I suspect Ava was drugged out of her mind at the auction, and has had some very bad experiences with people. Poor girl.
Beautiful horses. Beautiful ranch. Glad your back
Stay safe
Thank you!
Julie I can’t imagine the pain of a concussion and thank God. It was a horses head and not his foot as my gosh I’m so glad you’re OK. I’m so upset over Charlie. He was a funny horse and a tough guy. Oh I can feel your pain. On losing him 😢 very sorry Amelia passing too they had a great retirement though 🥰❤️👍
You have definitely had it rough and glad you are on the mend. RIP Charlie and Amelia❤
I’m so glad you are recovering well! I’m glad you worked out a new and improved feeding system for most of the horses. Again thank you for what you do. It was so nice to get an update, I was wondering. Take care💕🐴🐴🐴🐴🐴🐴🐴🐴🐴
Thank you so much!
OMG!!!! You are proving to be very strong woman. Here is hoping you and family will get better quickly. Ava is beautiful but cantankerous.
Glad you are doing well, wishing you a blessed recovery.
Thank you so much!
God bless you Julie and Cory. I cannot believe the two of you plus a recent employee take care of all those horses! You are doing God's work and although things unexpected do happen the good out weighs the problems. Love you guys❤
Grace is Lovely. . . Will looked like a Thoroughbred from a distance!!!
It is so good to see you again, Julie. Together with your wonderful horses.
Omg...so so sorry... please be careful and take your time...we will all still be here..take care of you💔🙏🙏🙏
Thank you for saving that beautiful Belgian mare,
I'm so glad your doing ok. So sorry for your loss. Your horses are looking amazing you all are doing a great job on their weight. You make a difference with all of them living their best life. Their furs are looking so shinny. God bless you and your rescues. Stay safe and resting too..
Have so missed you guys. So sorry about Charlie and Amelia I know the loss of a much loved family. So sorry to hear of your accident. Please take care of yourself. Prayers that you continue to recover. All the horses and donkeys are looking so good. Thanks for updating on all that's happened and hope all stays well.
I have been worried about you…so sorry for all you have been through…continued prayers. Please take care of yourself. Thank you for this update, glad you are better. Important to not do too much…listen to your body….
It’s heartbreaking about Charlie and Amelia and I am so sorry for your loss. You gave them a wonderful life and they were happy in their retirement! I hope that you’re recovering well with no more issues. You are in my prayers
Hoping you are doing ok. Thinking about you and praying for complete healing. Hugs
I can't believe Grace 😮 she looks like a different horse ❤ her condition at the auction was heart breaking....
She's big, She's bold, She's beautiful, but she kicks 😢
True. If I were yanked from my home, sent through auction, flagged slapped by a guy who aims to kill me, I would kick, bite, & run people over. With Cory & Julie's handling I am so filled with hope that Ava will give in to love. ❤
Sweet friend. My sister had a head injury. It takes time. We have your back! Take your time.
Oh my Julie, so pleased you are OK. You have been missed. So sorry to hear the sad news.
Very best wishes to you 💜
I'D SAY THAT'S FLAT LAND. YOU'RE AMAZING,LOVELY,KIND AND BRING BACK THE HUMANITY WE SO CRAVE. DID YOU GIT SOME RAIN? WE'RE DRY IN OK AGAIN.
You guys are wonderful humans! I'm so sorry for your heartache. Sending lots of love and positive thoughts your way! Take care of yourself, too! ❤
So glad to have you back and delighted you have recovered well Julie. Always remember to take extra care around horses, they generally are not malicious, but the freedom you give them now, must be exhilarating for them, and accidents will happen. I think what you and Corey are doing is amazing, and have joy in watching the wonderful life in retirement, these great characters are receiving from the two of you. Life is now giving them freedom to run, be properly care for and fed well. You both, and your helpers, are doing a magnificent job. Katy xx
Oh goodness. What a difficult time! So sorry about Charlie and Amelia. Charlie was able to live out his life in complete retirement with such care and companionship! You should be so proud of saving him. So sorry about Amelia. That did seem like a chronic issue for her. Thank you for taking good care of her. Remember....always give a Belgian the right of way.
Hello Julie- thank you for inviting us into your life of rescuing Belgian Draft horses and YOUR life, including your very dangerous head injury. It's a lot to share and we are so glad you are improving. The road to health is a slow process - please continue to take care of yourself as well as the lucky horses who come under the care of Fletcher Farms Amarillo. Of course we continue to watch.
She's pretty and hope she settles in well. Love the donkeys❤.
Glad you are OK! Passing of Charlie and Amelia was sad to hear. You guys are doing a wonderful job, with challenges that arise.
Ava is gorgeous! I bet there is some treat she will do anything for. Or maybe it will just take time.
We have missed you very much, but now we know the shocking reason for your absence my heart goes out to you. You are very precious to us, hope your recovery is study and take care of yourself darling...Best wishes from England UK 🇬🇧 ❤
I'm so glad you are OK so sorry for your loss as well you and your hubby and team are all angels love you guys
OMG!!!! Prayers for continued healing.
I hope you have no lasting side-effects, and heal completely. Belgians are huge, and can hurt you without meaning to. All the horses look great, Ava is a beauty! So sorry two are gone, but their last years were happy. I only hope I can say that at my end.
Concussions are no joke. It’s a good thing you took the time off.
Welcome Ava & hello Marty! Just wonderful to see you, and a glimpse of Cory, bringing Ava into your heaven on earth. The loss of Charlie & Amelia is heartbreaking - you both did so much to bring health and contentment to their retirement. Thank-you! And thank God you are on the mend.
You gave Charlie and Amelia their 2:52 best life. I'm sorry for your loss !
Oh my Gosh feeding is the best part of caring for them but it's also the most dangerous encounter to have with them .I always put me and the fence between me and the horses. While I'm feeding them.
Really think about how to make feeding safe for you and the horses.
I'm glad you're on the mend. Take care ❤
I am very glad you are doing much better. I am very sorry for your loses.
So happy you are back and feeling better. We missed you!
Sorry for the loss of the two Belgians.
So sorry about your accident. God bless you and all at Fletcher Farms.💜😊💜
We would never begrudge you taking time to care for yourself. Concussions are not easy to rebound from and can take even more time than you’ve taken up til now. Sorry to hear about Charlie and Amelia. Rip.
So glad you are back and mending. Prayers for your continued recovery.
I am very sorry about Charlie and Amelia but they were so grateful you rescued them and had a wonderful retirement. I also had a concussion and I would have dizzy spells for a year that immobilized me. Scared me every time I had one. It does get better so hang in there. I was knocked out by longhorn that turned her head when I was feeding her carrots and I dropped one, bent down to pick it up and she turned her head and I flew backwards. Still love our animals!!
So glad you're back. We've missed you and the babies ❣❣❣❣
I love seeing the horses, but your health is more important than my peek into how things are going there. Please take care of yourself.
Oh Julie, I’m so sorry about how poorly you’ve been. Bless your heart. I’m so relieved to see you are back and recovering. I was so worried about what may have happened and why you guys were so quiet. Thank goodness you are ok.
Sending love and healing your way sweet lady. 🙏🏻🫶🏻
Glad to see you back and apparently healed.😊
So glad your injuries weren’t worse and that your on the recovery road. Your new system of feeding seems more efficient and the horses are still thriving so good choice. Sorry for your loss of Charlie and the lady. Take care.
I'm so glad you're back. Sending prayers and best wishes for your continued recovery!!!
What a horrible accident Julie - I'm glad to see that you are looking well.
Sorry to hear that you have lost two beautiful horses.
You're doing great work, thanks for the update 😊🐎😮
Bless your heart sweetie…I knew something was up but didn’t want to pry. So glad you’re Ok and doing better. 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻♥️♥️🇺🇸🇺🇸🐎🐎
Glad to see you back. Sorry for losses and sorry to hear of your accident. Glad to hear that your getting better. If you need to rest-REST.
