  • I'm often asked how I make key fobs, so here's the details.
And here are several links I mention in the video...
In the video I SAY the stabilizer is 'cut away', but it's actually 'tear away.' I show it in the video, but here's the link:
    www.amazon.com/OESD-Weight-Te...
Here are links to four of my favorite site to purchase key fobs, but you can find designers all over the web and Etsy.com...
Lots of great embroidery items here. I've bought a lot from here and the instructions are easy to follow for things like mug rugs or fun pouches. She also has lots of dog/cat/rescue related items...
    www.inthehoopbysher.com/store...
I buy lots of dog key fobs from here. She makes them with the dog breed name in the shape of the related dog. Very cool! She also has lots of cars and other fobs/designs...
    madebyyoli.patternbyetsy.com/
I've also bought a lot from this shop...in fact, the Back the Blue and K9 Blue Line fobs are from here. She's married to a cop, so lots of her things are related to police, military, fire and K9s.
    www.etsy.com/shop/Nanashandma...
You can buy the paw snaps here. Just search PAW
    www.KamSnaps.com
Here's the Amazon link to the little tabs I buy for the key chains...
    www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07...
Here's the Amazon link to the key rings I get...
    www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07...
Here's the link to the embroidery machine basting trick...
    • Basting Around your Em...
Here's the link to the video showing how to modify key fobs and lay out your design, as well as adding more trim commands.

And finally...here's my email if you have questions

    Hope this helps...enjoy!

This was an excellent video. You explain everything quite well and your voice sounds like a friend instead of an overly cheery millennial 😀

This is the best and most clear video ever for vinyl embroidery instructions! Thank you Dian. I do have one question. What size and type of needle do you use?

Good video. What do u do with the sides? Mine look white. I think because I’m using a thick cut away. I’ll try to use the tear away and see how it turns out. Thank you.

I love these! So I am new to embroidery and want to make vinyl key fobs for my sons hockey team. Do you change your needle to stitch through these or will the standard one be enough? Sorry for the dumb question, just want to do it right and not snap a needle. :)

How much do you sell these key chains for? I’m looking into starting to sell my stuff to local shops and I have no idea how to price them for bulk orders.

In the video you say you use thin cut away stabilizer but the brand you show says ‘tear away’
    Which one is it ?

Hello, I have the BMP8 six needle and need to know how you get to stitch all the colors first then finally the outline last? I’m also doing key fobs and there are 3 colors, the outline being the last but it’s doing one at a time….would take too long for me to pull out the hoop each time. Any advice?
