Shelford to Cambridge cab ride (Taken 05-02-2024)

Cab ride through the Cambridge South Infrastructure Enhancements project construction sites (Shepreth Branch Junction, Cambridge South station, Hills road) then into Cambridge station.

That's in preparation for the upgrade of Shepreth Branch junction. It's being increased from 30mph to 50mph, with the Down Royston extending around 500 Northwards. That's what you can see on the left - the formation preparation for the new track. Nice ride, I used to use that line years back before and post electrification, alot has changed, what service was that on you took video from ?

Greater Anglia train. Class 720 IIRC. Handled well and my camera was nice and stable on it's little tripod.

@@moo13579 those sort of cab rides are really interesting as showed all the work going on plus a reminder for me of what it is now like
