Oh I was thinking the same thing. Idia seems so skittish around everyone anyway and he thinks he and Malleus are so different, but they both feel like they don't fit in and they're both alone a lot. Idia on purpose though, lol!

Idia think that everyone hates him, wich is not true. He's an anxious men who can't stand someone watching him bc ''they think im ugly, weird, stupid'. They make fun of me'. But Online Idia is more open, talkative and specially with Lilia he's much more friendly and affectionable.
Meanwhile Malleus is AWARE that everyone fear him. He know how powerfull he is and how human lifes are nothing but fragile in his eyes. He also thinks that people think of him as a ''some*thing* unreachable'', wich is also not true. He's friendly an caring (in his way) to the one he cares and feel amusing of how Yuu and Kalim see him as ''one of us''.

So Malleus's weakness is technology huh? Considering that Diasomnia chapter is after Ignyhide, I have a feeling that this will be something which become the main problem (and also how it will be solved through Idia & Ortho) in its story.
It is pretty much the formula that allies or the dorm in which you helped stop the overblot of one of its students in the previous episode will help you in the next episode

The only way i think its possible for malleus to not distroy the school in his overblot, it that he actually overblot in bariar vally (vally of thorns)....here is my theory: after the kidnaping accident with the dorm leaders , malleus's grandmother orders malleus to return , because she doesn't want to Risk the young prince's safety... So yuu and others somehow go to bariar vally to ask malleus's grandmother to let mallues return to nrc.....

Malleus might have bent down low enough for Riddle to hit the pie on his face. Or Riddle might have jumped as high as he could to get up to him. Maybe that's why the paper plate is on Malleus's jacket, aside that it slid there a bit?
I don’t think height difference matters when it’s about throwing something. When playing basketball, you throw the ball higher than your height. It’s no different here.
Maybe Riddle used magic to throw it? Just a thought. It would probably be easier to aim with magic.

This was exactly what i was hoping for. The only thing keep Malleus from being my favorite was some character development. Makes me wonder just what is he capable of. Thanks for the translation! I've really been wondering what his answers would be. I really love Riddle's gift to him. It was very thoughtful and made me like Riddle more.
However I was facepalming while also being sad when Malleus told Riddle he didn't need anyone on a desert island. And that it didn't matter which dorm he would choose because he'd just take it over. Mal sweetie, this is not how you make friends. It may be true, but it's offensive to tell people how much better you are at everything than they are. 🙄
I also think his answers reflected how isolated and alone he's always been and how he expects that not to change. He said he'd join Ignihyde in order to learn something new but that he'd figure things out on his own. It could be his arrogance again and that's probably part of it, but he doesn't even think to ask for help with something completely unfamiliar to him?
This is why he needs Yuu. 😉 Yuu can teach Mal social skills and make him feel comfortable enough to ask for help sometimes. He asks Yuu for help with the snow cone machine he got for his last birthday after all. Perhaps he only feels like he can let down his guard and ask for help with Yuu because he trusts them?
I really enjoy learning more about my favorite character ever so I can't wait for chapter 7, but I'm also really dreading it because I'm sure there's going to be a lot of angst. 😢 Happy Birthday Mal!
He's too straightforward, he will always say what he thinks without any regards to others feelings. Its the product of him lacking social development.
His latest voice lines mostly has many interactions of him with Yuu. Its alot actually, Yuu giving him drinks and Malleus offer to sit beside him to have a conversation, asking Yuu is theres a cream on his hair, Yuu asking what Malleus want and tells them to accompany him at his strolls. Alot actually. I swear MalleYuu is the only ship that is the best but never happens
Maybe because if Malleus asks for help from the others they want something in return. It's clear in the beginning these guys won't lend a hand unless it benefits them. Plus they used to talk behind his back, would probably say "wow one of the most powerful mage doesnt even know how to do this, etc" Yuu is the only one who would genuinely help and who Malleus is comfortable enough letting their guard down.

Riddle, even with how strong your UM may be, you still wont stand a chance against a Fae. I mean, Faes are naturally magic born beings, magic is part of their lives, they mightve known many types of magic that other beings dont.
Lets not forget that Riddle couldn't even hold Leona. True leona was overblotting at that moment but he still had the power the easily brake the collar. He isn't even half Malleus power.

Being a royal himself, Leona receive special training to hone his magic, and depending if he was eager of making his magic stronger back when she was young. Leona might be the strongest magic wielding beastman but he's not as strong as Malleus.
Magic has been a part of life of Faes, they are born with magic, they grew up with magic, it make sense they are more stronger than any other beings in Twst.

Guys like Leona and Malleus are not a dime a dozen. They’re special cases. Leona was able to beat riddle because he has more experience, he’s his senior, thus knows better defensive magic than riddle would, being a year below him Leona and Leona spending more time at the school. He had advantages Riddle doesn’t. That doesn’t make him stronger by default. He’s stronger likely through circumstance.

Yay, Malleus's birthday interview! It sure was an interesting one with the type of answers he gave 🤭 It made sense though since yeah, he's pretty strong even without his magic. Plus, he could make a fire no problem with his breath. Although, it's pretty sad to hear that he usually eats alone even back at his home. Jeez, not even with his grandmother, his only family left?? I don't know how they do everything there for royals, but gosh, he really did had a mostly lonely upbringing. Another thing, the food there is bland too?? I would have thought he ate better than that being he's a prince, but I guess food there usually isn't very flavorful....I mean, it probably isn't as bad as Lilia's cooking, but I would think it'd be much better than it not tasting weird. Then again, I don't even know what dark fae usually eat anyhow 🤷♀️

Faes food is unusual, and they rarely eat any human food. Tho they like any food that is cream. Hence why Malleus likes Ice cream. I want him to try frozen custard too.
And yeah, its pretty sad that he lives almost his whole life alone in the castle walls and only go out just to visit Lilia.

You know, if I think about it. Malleus said that any dorm he goes too, he says he’ll be dorm leader. But I feel that IF Malleus WAS to transfer to Ramshackle dorm, I am betting he would not be dorm leader since Yuu is already doing a fine job.~ He might be more than willing to step in if someone were to challenge Yuu if more students were to come next year as freshman.
