This piece can be so elegant and I'm glad that the soloist gets it. Wonderful.
I am now more than ever convinced that Narek is the best cellist of his generation. His genuine connection with the music is something extremely rare nowadays. He doesn't "feel" the music, he lives it. There is great future ahead of him.
💪👍
+Frodo Baggins I think Tim Lowe is better: his connection with the music is so much stronger
Please please please never take this down! This soloist especially really moves me...
Great sense of counterpoint, even though his parts mostly '1' line
@@Bulbophile do you understand how the cello works?
Hello how're you doing hope you're safe due to the covid 19 pandemic?
After listening to this I can't stop hearing it I side my mind over and over again.
really want to practice after watched this video.. awesome!!
Perfect Solist, Perfect Orchestra, Perfect MAESTRO.
This is the best performance
The cello as warm and confidently played as I have ever heard it, beautifully supported by this young and very professional orchestra. Thank you and Bravo!!
I appreciate the clarity of the orchestral writing as much as the bewitching sostenuto 'cello.
Now I understand why there are no transcriptions of this piece available for viola: It would be entirely impossible on viola, the range just isn't there. The cellist in this video is phenomenal. I have never heard him before but I will be listening to everything I can find of him. Incredibly soulful cello playing.
Astonishing soloist and wonderful orchestra.
Just a fabulous rendition!
Timeless masterpiece.
Excellent!!!
Bellísimo!👏👏👏👏👏
amazing!!!
Great performance, brilliant soloist!
Fantastic!
amazing! Incredible. I love how the soloist looks back at the violinists for their response at 3:42 :). It makes the conversation feel so genuine and intimate.
But if you watch the other available videos, he does that with pretty much every orchestra he performs with (watch the Toulouse for example). So ... is it spontaneous intimacy or stage-acting?
Ah music for the soul. Thank you.
This is sublime music with a divine interpretation. How many would guess this delicate music was by the composer of the 1812 overture? Beautiful. Thank you for allowing us to share in the sheer joy of this piece.
+ComposerInUK Tchaikovski wrote a lot of peaceful, melodic pieces of music. Why would you think you could only write something like the 1912 Overture, or only something like this?
John David I was speaking to music lovers in general about the popular misconception that Tchaikovsky only wrote sentimental or bombastic works. Clearly. you are a specialist and don't need reminding! All good wishes.
1812 is fantastic too!
@@arturolpc3593, Tchaikovsky didn't think so ;-)
@no issues I've known the violin concerto for more than 50 years. I write a blog (and soon a book) about the life and music of Tchaikovsky. Other than that, it's uncanny how right you are! :)
Beautiful music goes deep inside the soul to feel peace in darkness of the universe
BRAVISSIMO....
Bravo!!
Fantastico musicista,grande tecnica,e sensibilità',straordinaria

Your appreciation of Tchaikovsky, rather!. It touches us all, and inspires us to be generous and genuine with others
Wow. He is so good.
The finest interpretation and performance of the Rococo Variations I have ever heard. Totally inspirational! Thank you Narek.
I agree as well
WONDERFUL MUSIC ........
Amazing
LOVE this! Loved the flowers given at the end. Definitely different from American concerts.
P. Tchaikovsky. The Variations on a Rococo Theme. Soloist - Narek Hakhnazaryan. Conductor - Michail Jurowski.
Narek is fantastic!
The best version I have seen since YoYo Ma’s performance in Leningrad in 2015. Amazing.
wow!! good
¡Magnífico!
it is great.
Hello how're you doing hope you're safe due to the covid 19 pandemic?
Thank you for sharing this musical treat.
Genial.

awesome playing
Good!!
Awe----some !
Unbelievable interpretation of a piece that has sometimes been run into the ground by uninspired performances. I didn't know who this performance was by until the end of the piece when I read the notes below. Of course, Russians! What great and musical people! This cellist is young and phenomenal. Thanks.
The soloist is probably armenian or at least of armenian descent, though.
he is! he studied in Russia though
thank you for this superlative performance ! and for putting us in the best seat in the house !
Excellent, the successor for greatest cellist in the world after Yo-Yo Ma.
Bravo Narek...quelle émotion! Merci pour votre talent fabuleux.
Beautissimo!
I'ts so amazing!!!
Beautiful
Bravissimo !!!
WOW really good. 🎻💕
Sehr schöne Interpretation !
Excellent music, excellent solo performance, excellent orchestra and conductor.
He uses the weirdest fingerings... and makes it still sound beautiful
Muy graciosos los ademanes del cellista, felicitaciones.
From 14:00 😍😍
Certifié intergalactique!
Say what bruh look at this dude
Why on earth is the soloist not named in the video description?
9:17 ascent a bit ... But the descent , superb, and nailed elsewhere
Gustavo Domínguez gracias por la recomendación, me ha encantado :}
18:40 Bond fans will recognize that part ;)
Yeah lol
I just found his vibrato very exaggerated in some parts. Very good!
Lucas Henrique are there marking in the score for vibrato ?
best version

Can someone lend me the partitures of tchaikovsky rococo variations ONLY for the cello ?
You probably found out/aren't interested anymore/won't see this, but imslp.org has you covered
♡♡♡♡♡
he looks like linguini but brown hair
Not bad
14.53min- 17min sublime!
Which version is this? Tchaikovsky's or Fitzenhagen?
+Julio David Auster
This is Fitzenhagen's version. Tchaikovsky's original version is apparently rarely performed or even recorded. The exact differences between the two versions are shown on Wikipedia if you're interested. The most striking difference however, is that the lively variation 7 (17:20) served as the fourth variation in the Tchaikovsky version. There was also an eighth variation before the coda, which was cut in the Fitzenhagen version.
Thank you very much!
Fitzenhagen !

Whoever put the ad in the middle is this video needs to be sued

Bravo! The piec is , I think, not a successful case of Tchaikovsky because he cherishes his theme too much ,
especially the wood wind part, ,that he cannot make a variation in Beethoven or Brahms's sense.
thouth this performance does catch my heart.
It's like an Einstein on a Cello, Outer Space and Time there is no music! Again somebody trained in playing a Cello for the next generation without having a chilhood. In my opion the next generation of Cellist should play like Jacqueline du Pre!!!!!
Sorry to ask,but what is the rococo theme? After all ,you cannot make variations without the original theme...
It's in the very beginning.
Brilliant and moving but unpretentious soloist
Great piece, but a rather stuffy theme, you think?
5:00 is just as good as it gets...
😧😧 advertisements in the middle of the piece, so sad... put them at the beginning, it ruins the experience mid way through. Your choice of course but geez..
youtubes choise actually
