would you recomend this for a gamer, and do you have to disconnect you current wifi or could this be a hole seprate wifi, and do you have to get a payed plan for it
The main constraint on internet speed is your provider/plan not your WiFi so I would say that this router should be just fine for gaming. The device connects to an Ethernet that runs out of your modem so if your modem has more than one Ethernet output then I suppose you could hook up more than one router. You will need a subscription with your internet provider and you will need a modem in order to have internet access with this device.
I was thinking of buying one of these this week. But I'm completely ignorant to these type of things With this thing still be decent to have in 2024? I don't do any gaming I just stream movies and football games basically. Have a small 3 bedroom home. Thank you for any input and help
For a small home where range doesn’t really matter basically just buy the cheapest router you can find that gets good reviews and is fairly modern. I don’t really know that much abt the specs either but as long as it s fairly new it should be fine. Good luck!
so is it plug and play or do iu have to cointact my provider
First of all, you need a modem which is typically provided by a provider. You plug the modem into the wall and then you plug the router into the modem to wirelessly distribute the internet. The modem is what receives the internet at your house, all that the router is doing is just wirelessly transmitting the internet to all of your WiFi capable devices. So you need to contact your provider and have them activate your internet service and get a modem and then you can worry about the router.
Wait so what does the white cable for?
White cable is an Ethernet cable that came with the router in case you don’t already have one. I already had one (the blue one) so I didn’t use it.
It's not connecting to my modem any tips
Sorry, I don’t really know what to tell you. Maybe you could try unplugging the modem and then replacing it in the with router already on or vice versa. Good luck 😬
Does the router have to stay plugged in to the main modem or can i just connect it to the wifi then move it
It must be connected to the modem via a physical Ethernet cable. You can only move the router as far as your cable is long.
Thank you. Perfect!
your welcome!
