    Awww, I'm so disappointed that he doesn't show the cleaning anymore! One of the things I always LOVED about this channel over other reviewers is that he's so thorough and always showed the cleaning, but the last several videos he hasn't included that. That butter thing and also the veggie slicer he did a few weeks ago look like they might be nightmares to clean, so I was really curious to see him get to that part but he never did. :-(

    It's actually the opposite in the fineness of the powders in the scoop. The protein powder doesn't go down easily because it's so fine it packs easily. The other powder you poured into the mouth hole of the nicer bottle looked more like granulated sugar (coarser than flour or protein powder) so didn't cake and easily dropped when you opened the hatch. Good reviews as always

    I have a simular "DishWand". I find that when you are scrubbing several items you don't need to constantly dispense soap. Some soap stays in the brush and can lather up again with a little water. The reason the brush is removable is so you can put it in the dishwasher to clean it. I hope this helps.

  • @ItsJustLisa

    3M has made that dish wand for years if not decades. I live in the land of 3M worldwide HQ and have two family members who work for or are retired from 3M. My stepmom first gave my sisters and I each one in our “Santa boxes”, along with other helpful household stuff from 3M, when we had moved out on our own before any of us married (and I’ve been married 28 years this coming Saturday).
    Since that’s the newest version, the refill brushes for that shape will be along soon. Honestly the brush heads last a long time anyway. The interchangeability between brush and sponge is nice and it’s the sponges that need to be replaced more often because they wear out much faster. Since this was new to you, you’re not yet savvy to the ways of dispensing the soap. The brush will hold sufficient suds between dishes if you don’t rinse them out in between. And if you tip it slightly sideways, a tiny amount will go into the bristles, not on the dish. That’s all you need. If you’re dispensing to see it on the dish, then yes, you’re using too much. Keep using it, you’ll get the hang of it.

    Gcap: Remember, for anyone with kids any open bottle is just asking to be knocked over on the carpet, couch, in the car. Anything that reduces that risk is worth it. As for the vitamin water leak, I suspect that was because you probably slightly compressed the plastic bottle when you tipped it over, forcing some of the liquid out. It was still less of a spill than had the top been completely open.

    Hey, I think the Amazon reviews for the G cap saying it's hard to drink through could have some science behind it: usually, when you drink from a bottle, the gap around your lips (or the straw) allows air to flow inside the bottle meaning that the density of the air inside the bottle is balanced. If you use the G cap, no air can flow into the bottle to replace the volume of liquid that has been drunk, so the remaining air will drop in density and pressure, meaning you will have to suck way harder through the straw to counteract this. I could foresee this could present problems for young children.
    Maybe see if you're able to drink a full bottle?

    • @AnHeC
      @AnHeC Před 2 lety +13

      The air will get in through the straw between sips. You would only have a problem with trying to drink a lot in continuous fashion. Also, this is precisely why liquids don't spill, so this is not a bug. This is precisely a feature.

    Cool Gadgets! For the slide scoop. I think You have it backwards. Finer powdered will get stuck because they clump and don’t allow air around the grains. Courser powder will allow air around it so it doesn’t get suctioned to the scoop! Tapping it allows air to break the suction on the sides for finer powders!

    I haven't used the dish thingie, but I'm fairly certain I know why you're having dispensing problems.
    When you press the button it reduces the volume inside the handle, which increases pressure to force some soap out. The more soap in the handle the less air there is, and since liquids aren't really compressible you're going to force far more soap out when it's filled to the brim. When it's almost empty the air inside it is being compressed, which barely changes the pressure and as a result almost no soap comes out.

    That seems like a lot of detergent coming out of that dispenser. I wonder if you thinned it out a bit with water if it would still work ok. Pure detergent seems like such a waste, way too much soap coming out. There's also a stainless steel butter spreader knife on the market that has holes along the blade and you get thin butter curls with half the mess of that dispenser. You just scrape the knife across the butter and it forms thin curls to make it easy to spread. This plastic dispenser seems like it would be a real chore to get clean.

    Thanks for doing a review of a more kid-focused item, despite having no young children of your own. I'm in the process of adopting my 2 year old nephew (been with me since he was 14 months) and I'm always looking for different drinking options for him because, despite having like a dozen different types of sippy cups, we've not found one we really _love_ or want to commit to just yet. And being that so many are going at like $6+ a pop, it's not something we want to keep throwing money away on. He is able to use straws already though and seems to be pretty good at it so this gives us another direction and a wide variety for it to work on.

    That butter mill looks like a phenomenal solution for anyone who can't use a butter bell for whatever reason. My issue is I can't have dairy and I don't think nondairy butter keeps as well at room temperature, so having some alternative means of spreading it without tearing up the bread is a game changer.

    • @danielleanderson6371
      @danielleanderson6371 Před 2 lety +6

      @@emmamcdonald3410 A butter bell is like an upside down jar for butter that uses a water seal to keep butter from oxidizing or going rancid. The reason you’d want one is that is allows you to keep butter out on the counter, which keeps it at a temperature that’s easier to spread. The problem with a butter bell is that because it holds your butter upside down over a bit of water, if the butter isn’t the right consistency it can actually fall into said water. For this reason it’s not recommended to store butter substitutes in a butter bell. Plus those substances aren’t necessarily okay to leave out at room temperature the same way that butter is, so you run the risk of spoiling your spread.

    I use one hand held rotary cheese grater for butter and another one for cheese. I have them both in own tightly closed container in the fridge. That way they do not need to be washed after each use, they are ready to use. It is easy to get desired dose over a pasta plate, the rest remain ready in the fridge for the next use.

    I could see that Dishwand thingie with a couple of plastic water basins (wash, rinse) for dishwashing, mostly when car-camping or long trips where you might do "serial picnicking" for several meals along the road. I'm not sure most families can handle all-day road tripping these days though.

    You should have dipped the butter mill in a bowl of hot water to warm up the edges of the stick of butter then put a paper towel on your counter and tap the stick out onto the paper towel.

    Scrub brush real life long term review:
    • still can’t find bristle refills, but the sponge refills fit this wand as well.
    • doesn’t leak like some of the old school scrub brushes do, but it dispenses way to much soap each time, in my opinion.
    • when soap gets to like 1/3 full, it doesn’t dispense correctly, my guess is because of the lack of pressure of being full. The old models had a physical plug that lifted when you dispensed soap, but thats also what caused them to leak
    • long term review- the rubber where you press to dispense soap pulls away from the body of the wand and THAT caused leakage

    I had a similar soap brush in college and loved it, it was off brand (like dollar store) and never leaked and never had an issue with too much soap. Mine also had a smaller head so it worked much better, its perfect for dorm-like situations

    I think it's probably for pots and pans. I love the butter melt. There are cups for kids that are spill proof, however I will use if I was using it while at a computer or at work something like that. I really like them all.

    As far as the butter goes, it probably depends on the brand of butter that you’re buying. Some might be a lot more difficult to dispense that way but I’m glad to see that it works. That’s why the reviews are not always a best representation because they really should’ve mentioned what brand of butter they were using

      @@CodyCookBrent Yes I know he showed that he was using Land O Lakes butter I am stating if you see my comment that the reviews cannot be taken at face value because everybody uses a different brand of butter therefore the size of the sticks are different

    I think you would end up using way more soap with that brush. I have a similar one and I felt I was using two to three time more soap with every wash. There’s that, and I found it worked best with running water. So using more soap and using more water is not good for the pocketbook and the environment. So I use that brush without any soup in its handle.

    scrape along one side (I.e., top) of the stick or block. Same thickness of butter or cream cheese as with the device.
    Scoop funnel: sounds fun for filling spice jars from larger packages, though a funnel would work as well.
    Bottle cap: only one that seems especially useful -- for kids, or hydrating while driving on road trips.
    The others are pretty much landfill fodder.
    Oh, and for the dish wand, dilute the soap you put in it.
