  • HOW TO TRAVEL NORTHERN ARGENTINA: Quebrada Flechas, Cafayate & Ruta 68
    In this video we wake up in the tiny desert town of Angastaco, where we unexpectedly stayed the night before, you can see what happened here if you missed the previous video: • HOW TO DRIVE RUTA 40 A... we were so glad we stopped when we did because the scenery that we woke up to was not something to miss by driving by in the dark.
    After spending a few hours admiring the incredible scenery we completed the drive to Cafayate where we had some lunch and wine in a beautiful bodega called Piatelli which not only had great wine but also amazing food, service and views to die for! We explored the town of Cafayate before making the famous drive along Ruta 68 where we stopped off at all the incredible places along the way and explored them all. This route really is a must drive. We have driven some incredible roads in Argentina but this one really wowed us with it’s dramatic scenery and the places to see along the way between Cafayate and Salta.
    Next time!
    Join us next time for part 3 of Northern Argentina as we explore the Jujuy region starting with a 4 hour drive North of Salta, to another desert town before making the steep ascent from Humahuaca to another high altitude spectacular feat of nature the Hornacal 14 coloured mountain.

    Loving your videos. They are so well done. I had heading to Argentina in 10 days visiting Buenos Aires, Mar de Plata, Iguazu Falls, El Calafate, El Chalten and then down to Ushuaia for a few days before catching a 20-day cruise to Antarctica. I've really enjoyed the videos of where I am going soon but these past videos are making me think I need to come back and visit the northern part of Argentina. Muy Gracias.

    • @TideKnotTravellers
      @TideKnotTravellers  Před 3 měsíci

      We felt totally safe but we did insist on a half decent car because breaking down in the middle of desert rubble doesn’t sound fun 😅
      There was never any fear of carjacking, the people in this area are more likely to pull over and help you, we actually had that happen when were stopped somewhere filming, someone thought we had a problem and checked on us. It was very reassuring. Enjoy your trip, it’s an incredible place and don’t let media stories scare you.

      YES ! Bariloche is very appealing to us.

      Depends on where in the country you are. The provinces of La Pampa, Santiago del Estero, Formosa, Santa Fe, Entre Rios and the interior of Buenos Aires Province are quite dull for the most part, But even in those there are many interesting places and hidden gems. The rest of the 23 provinces are full of amazing landscapes, many of which were not shown in these blogs for obvious reasons.
