Years ago, I built a custom enclosure for a Civic with a single 15; it was angled and shaped to fit perfectly in the opening behind the back seats. Was so disappointed when it made almost no bass! So, what the hell, I turned it around…immediately popped the rear view mirror off the windshield. It was almost like sorcery that a 180 degree flip would make so much difference. Definitely proof to check each vehicle for what works best BEFORE you make that perfect box.

I have a trunk build and have my entire life. Ive ran sealed facing the rear for most of my life. A couple years ago I decided to go ported and add a sub. There wasnt enough room to face it to the rear so I built them facing forward with port along the bottom. Vertical height is 14” for my max trunk height and 36” wide. Gives me about 6 cubes gross to work with before port and subs. Had to do some grinding and removed passenger seat to load box into trunk from the inside of the car. I did run some numbers and I can get two L7 12’s in there with room in the middle for the port. The Sd gain is basically a 4th 10” sub. However I really need to gain a couple more cubes but that setup would absolutely hit. The three comp R’s sound amazing and are breaking my car.
That's one amazing demo. You can tell she's has a lot of power to push her subs.

My sub sounds best pointed backwards with the port on the passenger side. I have a old 12” 9500hd. Had it since new. Still thumps.
