    just to throw my two cents in, speaking about variance with sound in guitars.
    besides the fact that they just sound amazing and unique, for me personally, the beauty of Fishman's pickups is that they are all consistent. the greatness of the consistency, is that, with my 15 different(some extremely different, some a lot the same spec-wise) guitars with Fishman Fluence pickups, the variables in sound all come from the variances in the woods and hardware, which is really important. if you know the sound of your pickup, it allows you to predict what sort of guitar and it's combination of woods and hardware are gonna sound right, or to what you want the guitar to present in its voice. it also helps insanely with what sort of tone you're chasing with your amplifier and speakers.
    Fishman are truly changing the world for pickup technology in the best way possible, in my opinion.

Make sense you have a great idea and thought but it’s just not possible…….only reason I can see it becoming a thing is if enough people love the pickups to then say hey we love this sound can you give us a 7-string version but even that’s a long shot

    The problem most people don't seem to grasp and why I think "Signature" pickups are kind of a bad idea is that people think they will get them THE TONE... Sure... if you also run through his setup as well. Unlike normal actives, Fishman's can EQ precisely.... Don't go buying them expecting them to sound perfect through your rig/settings

      I can tell the difference between the sound of each pickups. Rig/settings make a difference. But pickups make more of a difference. Especially if a guitar just comes in stock pickups. I can tell one of my guitar stock pick ups sound low and my expensive guitar with signature pickups sound more louder and better :)

    • @clarkkotte3069
      @clarkkotte3069 Před 28 dny +4

      Pickups do not make more of a difference. The speaker and cab is the single largest eq change as a speaker is a mechanical frequency filter. The amp has much more powerful ability to change eq as well. The pickup sets the input level, impedance, and the input eq, but this is very minimal. Its mostly noticed by the player through the feel of them.

The fishmans really ruined other pickups for me ( even the bare knuckles). At first they're alarming to play ...because they're even MORE dynamic than passives which is wild its almost a culture shock. Some people dont like that " culture shock " I mentioned. But the more i played them and A,B the sounds, They grew on me extremely. They just have more of everything to put it simple. When i switch back to passives which ive played for 20 years .. I always find them lacking now especially in dynamics, the fishmans have made every other pickup feel bland, lifeless and stiff now. Ill only be buying fish mans going forward. Again its personal preference. Every guitar i own with fishmans are the most addictive ones to play.

    I’m in no way judging Mick in a negative way.
    The reality is is that these companies go out of their way to recruit popular guitar players.
    Somehow Mick has jumped from bc rich, Ibanez, Jackson, and nor to ESP (which is my personal favorite).
    He just so happened to start not being satisfied with Seymour Duncan Blackouts.
    It’s almost entirely an economic incentive structure that causes all these changes.
    As much as I have countless criticisms of Metallica, I appreciate their loyalty to ESP and EMG.
    Sure, Kirk is working with Gibson but when you’re a member of the biggest band in the world you’ve got a certain amount of flexibility.
    I love Mick, honestly but hearing him slobber over Fishman’s is sorta my point.
    Are we to believe all of his other endorsements were born out of ignorance? I suppose im not a part of the herd that believes a successful guitarist’s opinion in current year.
    Damn, Mick may be a Glarry guitar player in a few years if they pay him enough.

    • @grassmover13
      @grassmover13 Před 27 dny +1

      To be fair, I can also imagine him growing tired of using the same thing live for years and wanting something different after a while. It might be that the gear he's using fits the best with his tastes at that particular time.

    • @Whiskeylovur
      @Whiskeylovur Před 27 dny +2

      Not all of his partnerships are derived out of economic decisions. I know he ended his relationship with B.C. Rich due to actual production problems in the early 2000's that even made their way to artist custom models like Mick's later guitars. Even his Jackson models had problems with intonation because the custom hardtail was not designed with enough clearance for the saddles when tuned to Drop A. But you make a great point. Fishman and ESP have nailed it when it comes to their artist relations and marketing so I can't say I'm surprised they scooped him up as soon as they were able. What did surprise me was how fast Mick made the switch, especially considering how much he raved about his Jackson guitars. He was only with them for about 7 years.
