I have to admit, when I first heard this remix I was initially disappointed. I wanted the more mechanical, heavy sounding bass of the original SNES version. The more I heard it, the more I realize how amazing this remix actually is! Converted me into a lover! ❤
They renamed Mack to "Claymorton", which while at first I didn't like, it fits the naming convention better with the others. Although I still dont' care for Yaridovich becoming "Speardovich", it also makes sense (since "Yari" = spear anyway). Exor still is weird and doesn't fit the other naming styles.
Same, tbh. I only really struggled with the Booster post-game fight, and I'm mostly only around level 22. The Secret Secret boss pulls out the stops a bit, and I felt like I was really using all the tools available to me, but even then I went in with the wrong loadout (lazy shell on Mario instead of Peach) and nowhere near max level, and I still didn't have any problems. The game is faithful to the original to a fault. SMRPG is already an easy game, but splash damage/triple moves/teammate switching during battle sucks the difficulty out of the endgame. I hope they reward those of us who made the purchase for nostalgia reasons by offering an increased difficulty mode. Tighter timed hits, monsters with access to more spells, remixed enemy parties. Let Croco call some Hammer Bros as backup in that first encounter on Bandit Way.
@@anonymone453 Yeah, the Booster rematch absolutely wrecked me for quite a while until I realized/remembered Mallow exists. The secret secret boss also wrecked me for a bit until I got a strategy under my belt and actually beat them.

The name Mack was always just a translation error. And for me personally at least because he's the first major member of the Smithy Gang you fight I don't think it serves as the best introduction for the rest of his gang moving forward for his name to be that of just... some guy. With a wacky design like that? No siree! Granted, it certainly could have worked and been funnier later in the game where we'd have become far more accustomed to what we'd expect from the Smithy Gang but for a first encounter it doesn't really add anything other than just being an odd footnote. Also Claymores, he rides on a big pogo sword, claymores are big swords, all the other Smithy Gang characters are named after weapons (like Yardovitch changing to Speardovitch), it just makes sense.
Nintendo: "Don't make Mario and company hold a weapon, they don't suit him."

I heavily prefer the original soundtrack to the new one. I like orchestras, but the bass hits of the original is vastly superior imo.
