- I'm sure everybody has seen the viral "You're average at best" video, from Kevin Samuels by now. Their are numerous " you're average at best" reaction videos on CZcams and some of those have even gone viral. But I still haven't given my perspective on it and some of you have DM'd me and asked me to talk about what happened. So here it is! Before I get into it, I want to say I'm sorry to Jessica Gardner if this video reopens any wounds or anything. I don't believe she's average at all! In fact she managed to do something most people can't do... Make six figures as a single mom and without a man. That proves she's not average. I feel that she was treated unfairly. It's sad when a black woman comes to a black man for help and not only does she not get the help she needs, she gets embarrassed in front of the whole world. She didn't deserve that in my opinion.

My mom was a single mom of six. She had no problem having men interested in her. I remember a man name Henry liking her. He was ex-military, had a house, was kind, stable, and had two children. Great video!! As a young black man the issue with Kevin Samuel's is that this man does a lot of projection because he don't feel good about himself or make six figures himself he loves to tear down women who are actually doing it. People fell to realize that just because a person has a child or is divorced does not lessen their value. If men like him had actual vales and standards they would not be online criticizing what black women are achieving in their lives. they would be happy for them, they wouldn't be intimidated by these women instead these men would not only respect these women for having standards for themselves, but they would find inspiration in what their women are achieving and it would motivate them to do better and to become better men. Kevin also does not realize that there is nothing average about a person making "six figures" she is doing something that most black men have not even been able to achieve. He do realize that men have kids and are divorced so why does her being a single parent warrant her being alone that man need to grow up. He mad because he comes on social media and pretend that he is making all this money when he's not his whole persona is a lie.
What makes him so awful is that his ideas align with many low vibrational men instead of working on themselves and taking charge of their own lives they always love to blame black women for what goes wrong in their lives and what they fell to realize is that when you talk down on your own women it makes all black men look bad collectively, black women features come from your DNA and if you don't like them then that means you don't like yourself and you make yourself look bad to other men. Black men need to focus on themselves work on that self-love, self-worth, having values, and establishing actual standards because when you actually love yourself you will not be worried about what women are doing because you will be too busy working on your purpose. Also, please stop wrapping your entire worth around having money because once that money is gone so is your identity.
While what you said is true to extents, they don’t reflect what happens in real life. Majority of men aren’t chasing and marrying single baby mothers. That does cost you in value due to men naturally wanting to make a family with their own instead of raising another’s. That’s not to say it doesn’t happen, but like I said, the majority don’t want a family with someone else kid. Shidd there’s even parents who would rather their kid start a family instead of starting one with someone who has a kid.

Problem with Kevin is he seems more into tearing down women than giving them advice. He makes good points sometimes, but his delivery is so dismissive. Comes across bitter. He's funny though lol Just don't take him seriously when he talks.
Exactly I agree with a lot of his points but had to stop watching because his videos left me feeling hopeless rather than hopeful. He was being so nasty to some women who didn't deserve it and genuinly came to him for help. Even if your message is good, women will still turn away and run towards warmth, comfort and safety if your delivery is nasty. There has to be value in your business/service for people to want to buy it.

She also has a Master's Degree so she doesn't want the money she put out getting it to go to waste. I got lucky and we work well together. It wasn't always like this. We worked hard for years before we started making really good money.
Just work on yourself and what you really desire will be yours. I takes time but anything worth something does. There are plenty of good women out there. Don't let these types of spaces cloud you.
I agree with Eric. A real woman will be willing to grow with you, but you have to have a direction for your path. If you have no direction you can not say what you need if you don't know what it takes to get there. It's fine to be able to have enough money to take care of a family by yourself, but it takes time to get there.
There are good women out here but you have to put yourself in a place to find them. There working, in school, etc. They don't have time to hang out because there trying to have a better life. That's the type of woman that will keep your focus on your grind. For the ones that want a family or have nice things, she's going to put in the work because there thinking long term. If you're looking for someone to grow with. Communication is everything being able to talk through what it is you want in life and what you want in a relationship. She is either right for you or wrong and in that case, keep moving.

@Austin Powers No. BW got the point. If they decided to close their grocery stores to us will KS have a grocery store in the Black community for us to go to? Hospital? Gas Station? Schools? Then like the others, he is not qualified to say anything to BW. He has not contributed one thing to assist BW in their communities. @@cindyd4695 its okay. Personally, he's given me some good relationship advice (via free CZcams videos) that has helped me heal in the past so that makes him good in my book. You probably heard criticism from the type of men Derrick warns women about or from bitter women that refuse to heal from past traumas & think that he's somehow a fraud. Always consider the messenger/source & take it with a grain of salt when you hear people speak negatively about someone else.
