1:41 MONEY….going out on a “limb” here😉 and saying: think everyone watching LIKES MONEY, why would ya not, lol…
Now if only had triple what get monthly so can buy more tools; or what my family calls it: my professional toys: aka pro toys (or “proys” ….yep agree; it’s crackers or sound’s whacky etc….).
Thanks Brian for the vids ya make, as have your own “style” and vids have a POV that you keep with and keeping t(em consistent is nice! as having a channel that goes everywhere and nowhere, makes for some “interesting” vids and content. So THANK YOU! and even after 30+ yrs in the Trades, STILL LEARN NEW THINGS; and even from your channel👍🏻👍🏻
Have a good one and stay warm😉 (even here in Florida this past week, I took out my hoodies as chilly in morning and at night; which ppl visiting think we are nuts! But 55°F - 65°F can be wee bit chilly for us who live in Florida (or south) all year ‘round when we used to greater than 100°F + High Humidity most of the time, and when it’s 35°F in winter…..it’s WINTER CLOTHING AND GEAR as that feels like -10°F for us, which I know; it’s crazy😅 as used to live in Michigan and wear T-Shirt and sweats/gym shorts in middle of winter (15°-30°F and feel warm), but not anymore 🥶🥶😶‍🌫️😶‍🌫️

Some insurance companies cover raccoon damage but not squirrel damage. I’d have the homeowner check with their agent and ask them if raccoons are covered or excluded. With those pieces still laying up there it looks like it’s somewhat fresh and any recent winds would have blown them away from the area they were torn from.
Sometimes you can find foot prints or droppings to verify the type of animal damage it is.
Definitely would want to set some traps as well to try and catch the animal before doing repairs. Catching the critters is usually never covered by insurance companies.
Good thing the holes are still small and not big yet because if they get into the attic then it really sucks especially if they start urinating and crapping everywhere. Sometimes they even have babies which can be even more costly.

Hey Brian, great video. Brings back memories of critters climbing up my trees, getting into the attic, making all sorts of noises while I was trying to sleep. House built in 1994, we moved in January 2004. In 2012, we had a home inspection to identify any new issues since our pre-purchase inspection, and he confirmed the critter damage and water damage in the corner of the MBR, and a hole in the decking where one of the trees rested on the roof. He recommended cutting back the trees to prevent the squirrels and chipmunks from getting back in. But since most were pine trees and not shade trees and were close to the walls as well, we had them all removed before the roof replacement. Taking them out also enabled an excavation and replacement of the black corregated drainage pipes with PVC pipes on that side of the house.
I think I mentioned in previous comments to videos and your live stream, that I'm located in Uniontown, OH. So we have the same weather pattern. Nice cool days with pretty foliage.

Hi, just watch your video and leaned a lot. Thanks.
I have many roofs issues on my 2 year new bitumen roof. Hope to hear your advise.
    1. I hear water 💦 dripping on colder days, especially at night surrounding fireplace, next to it the bookshelf wall occurs like moldy spots.
    2. Ever since having new roof I discovered my ceiling and interior walls of my house shows shallow concaves spots and big grafs(bumping marks from moving furniture). Paints became bubby at certain ceilings .
    3. On sunny day, the attic is very very hot and it permeates strong- like tartly smells. This is an 85 year- old house in SF, ca Thanks .. love to hearing from you and anyone who likes share knowledge on these issues

Critters like squirrels and chipmunks can ALSO JUMP VERY FAR! Even if trimmed branches away from roof, doesn’t mean some critters aren’t jumping into roof still, just fyi😃

    • @GrandRoofingInc

Yes very true, but if the Critter has the choice of a simple walkway to the roof it will more than likely do that. Let it be the neighbors not yours.

Everyone uses TAR in Florida and typical roof takes 2 weeks in average to install……and they put the paper on deck, drip edge over that (no Apron, far as know….98% drip edge and 99% Tar), and than gloop bunch of Tar over that “edge” and also up valleys, around chimneys….. Just saw company do neighbors roof and took 3 weeks, and used 10 gallons of Tar (house is roughly 1450-1600 ft²

Regarding thermal cracking where 2 shingles abut, is there something an installer can do to prevent it? or it just happens with age in your region?

    • @GrandRoofingInc
      @GrandRoofingInc  Před rokem

I think it has more to do with the manufacturing process of the shingle, the ingredient blend ratios and temperatures with the oxidized asphalt. If you've ever made caramel and you heat the sugar a degree to high or too low it will turn very brittle and not yield the product you're looking for. Similar with asphalt.
